Went here with my boyfriend last night and my experience was… mediocre at best. I’ve been to this location numerous times and never experienced an issue before. We came in an hour before close and the restaurant was very slow compared to other times I have dined here. When we were seated we were seated at a table that still had dirty cups from the people before us, and our rolls were incredibly over cooked. Not a big issue, it took nearly 10 minutes before our server came to the table. We ordered our drinks as well as an appetizer, and then our food when she brought back our drinks. When our appetizer (Rattlesnake bites) came out they were great! We waited around 30-45 minutes for our entree’s to come out. When our food came out I was immediately disappointed. My steak that I had ordered medium was more medium rare, which wasn’t a huge deal to me. My shrimp I ordered were burnt to the point they were literally charred, and the green beans I had gotten were mushy and tasted awful. My boyfriends steak, which was also ordered medium, was so rare the center of it was still cold. I waited 10 minutes for our server to come back, and she was nowhere to be found. I decided at that point if we’re going to be charged $60 for a meal it needs to at least be edible. I went up to the host stand and spoke to the manager up there, she came to our table and had a look of shock on her face when I showed her our food. She was very nice and helpful and took the shrimp and green beans back to be remade, like I said I didn’t mind my steak and my boyfriend had eaten most of his. She brought the new food out which was exceptionally better, and told us she would take care of half of our bill. We finish eating, at this point I just wanted to go home. We waited for another 15 minutes after we finished eating and once again our server was nowhere to be found. We paid on the tablet at the table and I had to grab another server to get boxes. I think in total we saw our server 3 times in the hour and a half we were there. Never in my life have I had this kind of experience here, the food has always been phenomenal when I’ve gone. This was an experience that doesn’t make me want to come back anytime soon. The sections the servers have are very small, which was what made it hard to understand why we never saw ours. I understand it was the end of the night and she likely had side-work to complete but customers come first. The kitchen just seemed like a wreck, which I know places can have bad nights, I’ve been there myself. But being that it was very slow, especially given how busy they typically are, I don’t understand how the quality was this mediocre. I appreciated the manager’s willingness to accommodate the issues we had. But, overall it seems that this restaurant needs to pull it together. I can only hope that for their own sake that happens before the Penn State students return and football...
Read moreMy daughters wanted to take me out to dinner for my birthday and I excitedly told them I wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse as the first experience I had eating there was 2 years ago and we had a really nice enjoyable time (it's a 43 minute drive from where we live so we don't get there often but they agreed). They made a reservation for 7:30 for a party of 8.
We arrived and around 7:45 they told us to come on in that our table was ready. We went in and was told they were just finishing up wiping the tables down and it would be just a few minutes, 35 minutes later we were finally sat at our table.
The waitress took our drink order and our order for appetizers which we got two orders of fried pickles and a cactus bloom. We were pretty disappointed there were no peanuts being served (not even at the tables). We got the drinks and the fried pickles but were told the cactus bloom fell apart so they were making another. The waitress then took our order. It took over an hour for our food to be brought out, mind you it's now about 9:30 and we still hadn't received the cactus bloom and the waitress walked away. My one daughter had ordered a burger well done and when she bit into the burger blood ran down her hand. My oldest daughter waved the waitress over and asked her to have the burger cooked well done and asked about the cactus bloom. The waitress said oh yeah I remember now and walked away.
Not even 5 minutes later she came back with a cactus bloom that looked like it had been pieced together, was cold and half of it was still raw onion, none of us were able to even eat it, it was so disgusting. We finished our food and some other person brought my daughters burger out and she asked her to check to make sure it was cooked properly. I looked down at it and saw some burnt cheese lifted the top bun and burger up and it was so burnt she probably would have busted her tooth if she had bitten into it. The lady said oh I will have them put another on right now (needless to say I told her not to bother) as it's now after 10 and we were all exhausted and just wanted to go home. So now not only is she disappointed because of all the events that happened at my birthday dinner but now she is going home hungry as well.
Needless to say it will be a while before we eat at Texas...
Read moreI like Texas Roadhouse but their service has fell off big time in the last two years than what I’m used to from there. I took a break in the fall from coming so often because of this. I’m not one to leave reviews often, but every time I go anymore it seems to become less and less enjoyable. I went Thursday evening and it was okay. Sabrina normally takes good care of the bar. Last night I went to get myself some dinner and I got there around 8:55pm. I immediately asked for a water, marg, shrimp app and caesar salad. Mind you, it’s not even 9pm yet. I know the restaurant closes at 10, so I was trying to be mindful and put my order in as quickly as possible. I gave the bartender my dinner order at 9-9:05. I finish up my salad and shrimp, it was great. I’m expecting my order to come out pretty quickly afterwards because it was pretty full in the bar area; so I was assuming everything would flow as the kitchen was still preparing food. I didn’t get my food until after 9:55. The bartender said the kitchen “lost my ticket” once he finally noticed my food was taking forever, I didn’t say anything because I worked in this industry and I know how it can be but I feel like he was the one to forget to put it in. Because after he said that, it looked like he finally put it in right in front of me & then my food came out roughly 8-12 mins later. Instead of lying to a customers face, be honest. The bartender seemed like he was too worried about closing the bar and forgot. But that’s just my observations, the kitchen really could’ve lost my ticket. Who knows. But no one did nothing to my check, which was surprising because it seemed like the bartender sent the manager out to check on me after his mistake or the kitchens mistake. I waited an entire hour at the bar for chicken tenders that were fried a lil too hard, mashed potatoes that was supposed to have brown gravy and sour cream on the side, but it came on top and green beans. The meal wasn’t bad but the service is going downhill there. I hope to have a better experience when I go...
