08/18/25 I wouldnt go here anymore I have given them one final try after a couple years and they had only gotten worse first off a generic Italian beef that see like any American family made it at home buying the tubes of beef and getting cheap rolls that tasted like they are the cheapest ones you can get is what this beef is and taste like also their cheese sticks taste like they came from the frozen section at a grocery store and they charge me for a beef sandwich which was tiny and mind you generic one and 5 store bought cheese sticks like are $25 dollars which is extremely insane a while ago when I got the meal and replaced it with cheese sticks it was around $14 something and it’s not like this is a real italian beaf it’s store bought tubes you make at home for your family and I’m not here to shame you but you cannot charge premium prices for this kinda food and most people in Michigan don’t know what a genuine Italian beaf is and if anyone wants to know go to papa Freddy’s or Freddy’s and find out I’m telling you I’m born and raised in Chicago I know what great food is and when someone is ripping people off because they are getting a very big profit from the regular basically Walmart bought tubes were the meat doesn’t go with or taste good with the bun it’s in just at least go to Freddy’s website or on google and look up their Italian beaf you can even see the difference in quality and price because Freddy’s is made by scratch and it’s messed up most Italian eateries wouldn’t charge that much for 2 items and would never charge almost 7 dollars for five cheese sticks at Freddy’s you get a sack, I know you guys need to make money but this ain’t the way to do it my generic beaf had very little meat the roll was very gross you guys need to use actual Italian bread and cut it then when somebody says dunk it you soak the entire sandwich in its original cooking juices but instead gave me a cup of French dip juice those are two different nationality’s I know you’re getting a hype there because Michigan people never tasted real food and are used to the overpriced garbage Michigan restaurants give them but even going next stop to Indiana you’ll find some good Italian places really ones but I’m telling you take the time to make the trip to Chicago you wont regret it even typical nation wide restaurants are made better there for example I’ve had Texas Roadhouse here in Michigan and in Chicago and Chicago is way better in every way because they actually care about the food they send out and care about their reputation just do it stop buying Michigan junk food and just go to Illinois or take a mint vacation there you’ll see what I meant and you’ll start wondering why you ever bought food from these places in Michigan I’m not trying to humiliate places like reds but this is extremely overpriced store bought low grade low quality you can make at home in 30mintype food your selling for premium prices it’s not fair and not right to the customers here and they don’t know any better and that tubed store frozen section beaf the entirety of my 25 dollar small beaf five cheese sticks meal was the actual worst meal I had it was disgusting and I had too vomit afterwords it was that bad especially the bread I hate and can’t stand those generic Italian bread tube with low grade rolls which is why I know what it is and if you want a good hotdog or burger motz sticks George’s in Chicago is good pretty much all places are in Illinois are they legit have the Vienna beef facility near these shop and show you how its made there Its so sad no one here in Michigan knows what real food is and also sad what reds did because I had hoped they gotten better after all this time but they got worse with quality portions prices just everything while charging premium its just depressing enough to make me move back to Illinois because I can’t seem to find any honest shops or restaurants here in Michigan I hope you all at least look into what I said about Illinois and Freddy’s at least look at their pictures you’ll see the difference Take...
Read moreWe just love this place. The homemade root beer is the star of the show without question. Sweet, but not too sweet, carbonated but not too carbonated, it has a good, earthy and sweet blend of flavors. And when served in a frosted mug, it bring back memories of the good old days. The waitresses work hard in all weather and they earn every tip. Red himself makes frequent appearances and he still seems to enjoy the whole thing chatting it up with customers. They've got good food too! The hot dogs dinner franks have a good meat to bun/topping ratio. Burgers are juicy and creatively topped. There a even a few items if you don't want to eat your meal between two bun halves. I like the shrimp basket. I wish they would rethink the coleslaw recipe. It's way too bland an ordinary. I've been told it's fresh, but it doesn't taste that way. Adding a little salt seems to improve the flavor a little. The sides are delicious, fried mushrooms and other veggies are a tasty alternative to the crinkle cut fries. The onion rings and onion chips are outstanding! Marzette's ranch dressing is a creamy and delicious way to off any of...
