The wife and I took a trip to Salem and Boston and this is our first time visiting the beautiful state of Massachusetts. I couldn’t help but notice all the Roast Beef shops as we were exploring the North Shore. So I started doing some research to find which beef shop would be the best and TikTok pointed me to Jamie’s Roast Beef which was a short drive from where we were staying. Our second day here the wife asked what I wanted for lunch and I said we had to try a roast beef because apparently it’s local delicacy and sadly the only thing close to this back home in southeast Michigan is Arby’s which obviously doesn’t compare. So we stop in and the woman working the counter was super excited that not only was it our first time at Jamie’s but our first time having a beef and she was super friendly and happy to help. Since we were first timers, she recommended we order the roast beef 3 way. So we ordered 2 sandwiches 3 way, one small and one in the biggest size for myself and a side of onion rings which we split. Again, the lady working the counter was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The onion rings were great and a generous serving which 2 people could share easy. She included a fancy sauce for the rings which had a nice zip to it. The roast beef sandwich was easily the best thing I ate this entire trip. The barbecue sauce is tangy and the mayo compliments the sauce and beef well. Dave Portnoy says it’s a shame the rest of the country doesn’t know what a beef is and being from the Midwest, I couldn’t agree more! Jamie’s is fantastic and I’m so glad we stopped here on our trip. Thank you for the warm welcome and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Massachusetts. Go Lions and go...
Read moreMy husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Jamie's on our way home to NYC after our visit to the Salem/Peabody area! A bartender at a place we visited in Salem recommended it to us.
First of all, the food was delicious. We each had a Super 3-Way Sandwich (Roast Beef, Mayo, American Cheese, JR Sauce) and then shared one regular fries and one regular onion rings. The regular sides (the smaller of the two size options) were huge; definitely shareable. The fries and rings were cooked perfectly. The sandwiches had a generous portion of beef and were packed with flavor. Upon my first bite, I sent a pic to my "foodie" brother and told him he definitely needed to make a stop here on his trip to Salem this fall.
On top of the awesome eats, we received great customer service. The cashiers were knowledgable about the menu and made spot-on recommendations, down to which sauces to pair with the sides.
But this place went above and beyond; I had left my purse at our table and didn't discover it until I was back home in NY. I called the restaurant and Jamie's team member, Kate, assisted and assured me that they had it and would get it to me. Come the next available business day, Kate had messaged me to let me know she had overnighted my bag to me. My bag arrived today and I am so grateful to Kate!
My husband and I cannot wait to come back to the Salem/Peabody area and make another visit to Jamie's. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hearty, delicious sandwich, satisfying sides and awesome customer service! Thanks...
Read moreIf you're anywhere near Peabody, MA, Jamie's Roast Beef at 44 Margin St is an absolute must-visit. This humble yet spotless and thoughtfully designed spot has turned roast beef into an art form. We're not talking about your average roast beef sandwich here; this is the stuff of legends. It’s Jamie’s Roast Beef - a class of category all its own, like submarines or vases class, but infinitely more delicious.
One of their standout offerings is the Triple Super Beef. Imagine three layers of perfectly cooked, tender roast beef stacked high on a soft, buttery onion roll, topped with their signature tangy BBQ sauce, gooey cheese, and a generous dollop of mayo. This isn’t just a sandwich - it’s a masterpiece. It's so good you might consider framing it, though I'd recommend eating it instead.
The staff? Friendly, fast, and genuinely enthusiastic about making your sandwich dreams come true. The vibe? Down-to-earth but with just enough polish to make you feel like you’ve discovered something special.
If you’re not already planning your trip, let me say this: Jamie’s Roast Beef is the kind of place you’ll brag about visiting, and when you do, everyone will want to hear about it. Just don’t forget a napkin—or three....
