At approx 10:35 my ambulance pulled into this Wendyâs parking lot to get a quick bite to eat as we have been running calls all day and only had a short amount of time to grab some food. My partner and I had gotten out of the ambulance and pulled on the doors to only find out the doors had been locked. As a first responder that works 24- 48 hour shifts and well into the night this is a problem that we often face. But most restaurants have no problem letting the crew order from inside because the ambulance / fire truck wonât fit through the drive thru . I made eye contact with the young pink haired girl pictured and she began to tell me go around through hand gestures although I had begged her to come to the door after I had moved away from the door and tried to tell her the ambulance would not fit Through the drive thru and if she would just come to the door I could explain better and maybe she could take our order . After a few minutes of exchanging meaningless hand gestures and mouthing of words my partner and I walked around to order.
After ordering from the first window I went to the second window. I saw the young girl with the pink hair and tapped on the window. The girl began to become dramatic and rude complaining and whining about how unsafe she felts about a crazy person at the window (I heard her through the window) and police needed to be called. She was about to cry . At this point I had become frustrated and disappointed in the unprofessionalism and lack of awareness as there is a big white ambulance outside that this girl already saw me step in and out of as well as the simple fact I am in uniform. A lady in a red shirt had opened the window and I began to tell her how I felt then she made excuses for the girl and showed no remorse for the ridiculousness that occurred. I wonât be coming back to this location and I will be writing to corporate. Shame on the employee and the staff at this Wendyâs not recognizing a first responder and treating us like criminals or...
Read moreI just had a Dave's Double with bacon, medium fries, a large Coke, and a medium strawberry Pop-Tart vanilla frosty. Strawberry Pop-Tart! I went into it expecting a vanilla frosty with crumbled strawberry Pop-Tart crumbles stirred in. The execution went WAY beyond my expectations. There was a much stronger strawberry flavor than what you get in actual Pop-Tarts. The crispy element that they stirred in was a little crispier than most Pop-Tarts and it never got soggy. I called people to tell them about my frosty. My son and his mom now have plans. I haven't had my expectations of a fast food menu item exceed my expectations like this since the Angry Whopper with extra Angry sauce. I want to try a little with chocolate, but I'm pretty sure vanilla will be the clear winner.
The Pop-Tart frosty wasn't the only good execution. This is one of the only Wendy's locations I've found recently that still serves crispy fries. They tasted like back in the day when people were actually excited about Wendy's natural fries. Poor execution and soggy fries have messed up the reputation for Wendy's, but this location still has them the way I remember! A light crisp exterior with a full soft interior salted, but not excessively.
The Dave's Double is always a winner. The proportions of meat to veggies to sauce to bread are perfectly balanced on this burger. I chose to add bacon, which was also delicious. I look forward to coming back here for another Pop-Tart frosty and...
