We were recommended this crawfish by a family friend who is from and lives in New Orleans. My husband is from New Orleans so we are always looking for places in houston that my husband approves of. We called ahead of time to see how it works as we werenât sure if you could dine in. The guy that answered the phone carried a tone that was not welcoming and seemed like he wanted to get off the phone with us even though we only asked a couple of questions. We arrived and the lady taking orders said there was a wait for the crawfish. I said âwhatâs the wait?â And she rudely responded âwell the crawfish is soakingâ (rude tone). I said, thatâs not what I askedâŚshe ultimately responded to my question. Meanwhile, another car drives in the wrong way according to her and she stops servicing us to basically talk to herself about the guy pulling in saying âyou canât pull in that way turn around turn around you canât do that someone needs to tell him he needs to come in the right way, I donât have a problem with telling himâ and is going on all while leaning on our car with her arm on our door. I just look at my husband like wtf is wrong with these people. Wait was 20 minutes so we decided to wait? The lady who brought our food was very nice. The crawfish was NOT GOOD. Pretty flavorless, no juice so forget sucking the heads and rubbery suggesting it is overcooked. The potatoes had no flavor. The only positives were most of them were decent size however not great if they donât have flavor and the corn was actually very good and spicy. Overall, would not recommend and we will not be giving them a...
Read moreI called first to see if they had crawfish, and if they were fresh. I was told a fresh batch was just coming out. It took me 6 minutes to drive there. Once there, I ordered 4 lbs. But, I was showed a perfect crawfish and encouraged to buy another pound since they were so fresh. Then the sides... corn, potatoes, side of shrimp... I bit. When I got home, I opened up my crawfish and started to peel..... Sadly, they were over salted and I could tell from years of cooking my own that the ones I was sold had been reheated. They were NOT fresh, the corn had been reheated as well, and 3 of five potatoes were barely bigger than a large olive. Don't waste your money. At $6.99 @ lb go to Floyd's. That's where I went the next day and they were fresh, the corn wasn't over cooked, and the potatoes were at least the size of large lemons. Again... don't...
Read moreThis place consistently has the largest live crawfish I've ever been able to buy locally in Texas. It's a small shop, but there's always more crawfish and they're open until 9pm most days. They have boiled crawfish as well, but I just like the process of doing it myself. Staff is friendly, courteous and HELPFUL! They have different sizes and the best prices, not to mention you don't have to go thru the hassle of buying like you have to at HEB. They'll sell you multiple sacks or half a sack, heck I got 10 pounds once - whatever you need, they'll help you out. I'll never go anywhere else for...
