Been here more than 5 times and I have ALWAYS asked them to make my drink extra sweet and they always make it taste the same as any of their other lattes. Then I started asking for it extra-EXTRA sweet and they still never do it! Same pain taste every time. Iāve never had this issue at any other coffee shop. Could be that the barista just doesnāt want to do it. Really canāt think of any other logical explanation. The lavender in the lavender latte doesnāt come thru and the honey latte isnāt anything special either. The only thing I really liked about this place was their giant breakfast ātacosā that were $8. it was so delicious and almost like a full plate wrapped up in a tortilla. But they stopped selling those and started selling Tinaās gas station tacos which were horrible. We bought some the last time and got some barbacoa with egg tacos, just to find out that the tacos had literally no barbacoa meat in them at all. Just a remnant shred or two lost in the immense amount of egg.
Update 9/28: I realized itās just this one certain barista. My partner would bring me lattes here and there. They tasted different than before in a good way, so I started to go back to give PCR another chance. The last couple of times I saw the new menu. Tinaās tacos arenāt as bad as the first time I had the disappointing taco. They have delicious kolaches and wonderful pastries. And the most important part was that the coffee had improved! Went back today and the coffee wasnāt as good as the last two times. Thatās when I realized the same barista from before (when I would get bad lattes) was there. Granted, she was constantly shouting for people to wrap around the counter, because it was so busy and the line was long. But she was just angry, as she always seems so be. She kept cursing behind the counter as she was making orders. Then would yell out when peopleās orders were about to come up. Okay cool, I get that that. But as she called my name order that was about to come out, I was obviously ready and right there so I could quickly grab my order, making it as obvious that I was on stand by. I wanted to avoid her yelling. She saw that but still screamed out my name order! Yes, there was lots of people and she needed to make sure people would hear clearly, but it was so condescending. My latte wasnāt good. It honestly sucks to treat yourself to a coffee, only for it to be made with hate. Literally itās insane how someoneās bitterness reflects on to their work. I really wanted to update my review and give it five stars, but glad I waited only to realize the real issue. Every time I walk in, now, I will walk out if I see that lady behind the counter. Even when itās not busy, sheās always in her mood. Itās not fair that everyone and everything else is amazing. Itās only when sheās there, that I walk out disappointed that I just used my limited spending money on this place. This lady is so intimidating,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey're okay. I've been going there for years, but in the past few years, since they've changed management (at least twice), they've made some unfortunate changes.
After the first management hand-off, the whole structure of the place changed... Literally. They gutted it and made it extremely open, but even with the openness, there was ironically LESS room in the place. The owner replaced some of the tables with bolted-in tables that are not large enough for two laptops, so you either go there alone, sit at the bar (if there's room.. there are three spaces at the bar), or sit out back. Alternatively, you can take one of the other tables, but they're really better designed for four people or more. Stickers, which most local coffee shops give out as free advertising for people's laptops, suddenly cost money. The food was still alright, though.
Fast-forward to the post-pandemic days. The shop changed owners again, and now the quality of the food declined. They switched their pastry provider to Craftsman, and blandness ensued.
Then all the baristas quit.
Frankly, they don't have much going for them anymore. Starbucks is better, and with Scooters practically across the street, and First Cup moving in, I'm not sure how much longer they're going to last.
I miss their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to come often when I lived in town when it first opened. It was a great place then and customer service was a lot more friendlier and productive. Every time Iām in town I go out of my way to stop by but this time on 5/12/23 the service was just horrible. I waited 30-40 minutes just to get an iced coffee. There was 3 guys working that day and only 1 seemed to be working while the other 2 just stood behind the espresso machine looking at everyone that was also waiting. A line that should be in an out took a long time as they were so busy putting ahead a to go order of 28 drinks. When I confronted one of the guys why they werenāt making any of the walk in to go and only the huge order with one guy working on them, he had the audacity to argue and say it was āa coffee shopā. Not sure what that has to do with your productivity. When asked to see the manager, he supposedly had stepped out. Being 9 months pregnant and waiting for a drink and pastry that should have taken less than 10 minutes I was so annoyed, more so because of the service and inefficiency of the staff. I used to rave and tell people about this shop but if the customer service is like this it doesnāt make anyone want to walk in there and enjoy the ambiance and...
