This restaurant is a hidden gem in Pearland! It’s kinda ducked off in a corner on a shopping strip so it’s hard to notice it at first glance. I love coming here because the food is great and affordable! The portion size is perfect 👌🏾. I always come here for Sunday brunches because there’s hardly ever a wait time and there’s always plenty of seating. The restaurant is also very chill and casual and they play R&B songs in the background if that’s your vibe. Definitely check them out if you’re in the area! #pearland #brunchvibes #houstonfood #houstonfoodie #brunchideas

Quaint restaurant at the end of the Food Town shopping center. Light music playing in the background had a nice ambiance. Booths have solid walls for a personal conversation while the two and four-person tables leave no privacy and are quite close to other parties so you're talking over others (unfortunately we overheard conversations and tones we would have preferred not to). Started off with the Ginger Strawberry Lemonade ($4.50) which was a refreshing drink. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't list it as no refills, it came with 3/4 ice, and for the price I wouldnt order again; there should at least be one refill. The Classic Benedict ($13) with a side of bacon ($4.50) was a mixed late morning breakfast. The sauce in lieu of hollandaise was a little too excessive in amount and drowned out the egg, Canadian bacon and English muffin. The meal also came with vinagerette salad which didnt jive with the breakfast item. The Maple Bacon Donut Holes ($7.50) were good and fit my child's maple bacon donut fix. Decent first time dining experience. Since the restaurant is new, they're still in need of extra wait staff to accommodate a full restaurant. From food delivery to being offered the check, no staff visited our table to get some water. We'll return to give the restaurant and menu another go.

My wife and I were lucky enough to be the first customers on opening day for The Rooster. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Chicken and Waffle. We've been to breakfast/brunch places all over the greater Houston area, Austin, San Antonio, Nashville, and DC, and I have to say the food at The Rooster ranks right up there with the best of the places we've been. The menu is well thought out and accommodates a wide range of tastes, and the dishes are delicious. We've been back for lunch, and the Crispy Chicken burger and the Street Corn burger were fantastic - and I could eat a bucket of the tots. The menu prices are perfectly fair for the quality of food you are served. The only improvement I'd like to see, especially since the focus is breakfast and brunch, is the addition of an espresso maker with a variety of coffee drinks (and a better quality of coffee) - but this isn't enough for me to drop even half a star. Also, a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa would be perfect. Overall, we're very glad to have The Rooster nearby and we highly recommend it, and we can't wait to see how they evolve!

TLDR; Awful and weird experience at The Rooster and will NEVER return.

We went as a party of four, restaurant was fairly busy but we were sat immediately. When the waitress took our drink order she repeatedly said “anybody else want anything?” after each person ordered, odd. Drinks took a while and then it took a while again for her to come take our order. She did the same thing when taking our food orders, again, odd. After about waiting 30 minutes for our food the table next to us (party of two) asked the waitress when they would be getting their food, they had ordered before us and had also been waiting a while. She assured them that it would be right out. After waiting another 10 mins(now 40 total) both the table next to us and my group asked again how much longer it would be and she told us again that it would be “right out”. This whole time a person at my table is watching the kitchen and not a SINGLE item has come out the kitchen. 10 minutes later another person walked by who I assume was the owner(wearing a chef uniform), we stopped them and again asked how much longer it would be as we had been there near an hour. She also said it would be “right out” and told us that the orders come out the kitchen in order they are taken. This comment seemed very peculiar, that’s typically how it works? She refilled our water and noticed our table was wobbly and unlevel. She then says she can fix it(we insist we’re okay) and CLIMBS UNDER THE TABLE WHILE WERE SITTING THERE. This was so so uncomfortable and weird, she fidgets and shakes our entire table while bumping into our knees 🥴. She then offers to move us a table over because she can’t fix it, we decline because we’re fine where we are. (Keep in mind we can see the kitchen and this whole time not a single meal has come out and every table we can see does not have food.) Our food finally comes out looking like the most mediocre frozen food you have seen in your life. Of course we don’t care given we’ve been waiting over an hour for it. I ordered CAJUN shrimp and grits, and let me tell you, I have never had something so nasty. Grits were 100% plain, not even salt or pepper. It had some strange creamy sauce on it which I think was hollandaise? Five tiny completely unseasoned small shrimp. And to top it off there was olive oil poured on top. The menu description was for cheesy cajun shrimp and grits?? And the whole dish tasted solely like I was eating olive oil soup. It was so bad everyone at the table tried it. And to top this whole experience off, there was a table next to us to so the two tables made a “L” shape. People were seated there while we were eating and they basically became part of our table as they were facing and staring directly at us 2ft away. Our tables were basically touching. This was such an awful experience and embarrassing as some of the people in our party were from out of town and wanted good local food 🤦‍♀️. I know this is a super long post but everything about this place was weird and awful, I strongly recommend staying away...

I went here based on Google reviews, and it was very close to my location. I made a reservation through Google, that was confirmed. Upon entering, a lady yelled from behind the bar/counter, "Good afternoon, it's about a 45-minute wait time," though there was absolutely, no one waiting and an empty table. I proceeded to tell her that I have a reservation at this time, and they had confirmed it. After a couple minutes, another lady walks over, asks for the name on the reservation, and says "y'all can go ahead and sit at that table." We proceeded to the table and sat, and waited about 10 minutes for a server to come take drink orders. I request a drink that's on the menu, bright and bold in the middle, only to be told they didn't have it. My daughter requested a different drink, only to be told the same. We selected available alternatives and ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer. Drinks came out, but no appetizer. 10 minutes later, the server returns for meal orders, I order Shrimp&Grits, only to be told they were out of grits. The server says, "Well, it's the end of the day, and..." My response is, but you're still open. While sitting, we notice other tables being given baskets of croissants "on the house," However, nothing is given to us, not even the tomatoes that we ordered. Before getting to the final straw, I'd like to add that this establishment is located at the end of a strip mall with a grocery store up the sidewalk, it's quite small, so you can hear everything. And I'm not sure if it's black-owned, but all of the staff were. So, the server returned to the table, still without our Tomatoes, but to take our orders, again, after giving me the opportunity to decide on an alternative to the grits they didn't have. My daughter and sister placed their orders, I opted not to order anything and just partake in the appetizer whenever it came. After about another 10 minutes, the lady (who initially said there's a 45 minute wait and seems to be the manager or owner) takes a basket to this table, she treated like royalty the entire time, stating "here's some fried green tomatoes for you." Then we hear our server say "those were mine for table 5." At this time, I requested the server come close out our tab that we may leave! While she apologized, they weren't even courteous enough to comp the drinks... I don't really know what the issue is or was, but I would not return or recommend this place. I almost want to say that they're prejudice against their own race, except one of the tables that received complimentary croissants looked like me. But ALL of the other guests did not. No stab at any of the guests, as we were all paying customers and should be treated aa such. This is a matter of extremely poor customer service on all levels. I left out a few details for the sake of time...

This place was bad!! Went for breakfast this morning. Nice interior, waitress was friendly but the food was horrible. I ordered the Crab Cake Benny, my daughter ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny, husband ordered the Waffle. First off we were the only people there and it took 20+ minutes for our food to come out and it was cold. My crab cake was not cooked through so the consistency was like tuna salad. The poached egg was cold, hollandaise sauce was cold, English muffin was burned underneath. I called the waitress and gave it back also told her my daughters food was cold as well. She stated hers was supposed to be cold, ummmmm no ma’am poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are not served cold, her English muffin was burned as well. My husbands waffle was Lukewarm at best, the strawberry butter didn’t even melt. When the waitress took my food back the cook/cooks came out and looked at the plate, began talking loudly (we could hear them) and seemed a bit upset. My daughter and husband went ahead and ate their food but I refuse to eat undercooked seafood. I should have checked reviews first and I would have decided against this place seeing a lot of bad ones and particularly one about seafood. To add to the not so great experience the menu does not tell you the Bennys come with what looks like romaine lettuce from a bag with some type of vinaigrette on it, I would have asked for it to not be put on my plate as would have my daughter. Everything is also ala carte. It was over 60$ for the 2 meals including fruit juice and coffee. Long story/complaint made short………. Horrible. Would not recommend this place period!!!!!! If I was able to give the food no stars...
