Staff were friendly and attentive. Sushi offerings were more expansive than those of other nearby restaurants while being priced comparatively. In person menu was more clear than the online one (in case you looked online) but item pictures did not have captions and their placement left it up to the eater to determine whether they are above or below a description (I believe they are above). We got basic rolls (spicy tuna, yellowtail, and eel) as well as two special rolls (Pearland and cowboy). Because they wrap with rice on the outside of the seaweed as opposed to inside you might be inclined to think that the basic rolls (in particular) appear less appetizing than their price suggests they should be. Do not be tricked! All the fish was excellent. The yellowtail roll was melt in your mouth amazing and it is just yellowtail, rice, and seaweed. The fancy rolls were also very good and again managed to showcase the quality of the fish rather than hide behind overuse of sauces. The tuna in the Pearland roll was phenomenal. We also tried sake and a Brussel sprout appetizer. We had thought the Brussel sprouts were tempura deep fried due to confusion surrounding menu picture placement and some inference on our part. The Brussel sprouts were good but not amazing. The sake was served warm and with two ceramic glasses for the table. Based on our experience I am very excited to try the ramen, hibachi, and low-mein/fried rice offerings, as well as some of the more distinctly different appetizers. We will definitely be back for more. Note: they also have other locations in Lake Jackson, and Downtown in Chinatown. Update: had the opportunity to return and try the bento boxes for lunch. Portions were generous nearly to the point of being too much food. As before it was all very good. Definitely going to make this a regular or outing

Came here based on the reviews and was severely disappointed. Ordered karaage, takoyaki, spicy tonkotsu ramen, and spicy miso ramen. The takoyaki was okay, just subpar. Not the best I had but not the worst. The problem is with everything else. Karaage was super soggy and not crunchy at all. It has almost no breading or crunch to it. It looked like plain chicken breast stir fried in sauce. Both the ramens were very small portions and were extremely salty. It tasted mostly like MSG. The pork chashu was also salty and very dry. As a huge ramen fan, this place is one of the worst I’ve been to. That’s only for the food, the service is also bad here. I told them the karaage was not karaage at all and that it was not crunchy and instead dry, and soggy and the waiter started arguing with me and being rude to me by pointing at the menu and saying that it’s what I ordered (they have a picture of karaage that looks nothing like what I got). Then he said “Our karaage is just like that, it’s saucy and soggy” and I was bewildered. Then he proceeded to tell me that no one has ever complained about the karaage before so I had no right to. They have only opened for ONE MONTH. After the back and forth, I was finally told that they’ll take away the karaage and cancel it. I was so excited when I saw a ramen place opening near me but I will never be coming back. Also, another note is that the water and drinks here taste funky too.

Even though the place is tiny, the decorations are good and there is enough room for the people. They keep the place clean. If you are looking for a to-go japanese restaurant for lunch, this is the one. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. If they only place some environment music for the lunch according to the restaurant could be perfect (there is not enough ambient of Japan in that aspect). The waiter was humble, and with my husband we really had a great time with him today. We tried the Tokio ramen, creme brulee, unagi rice, seaweed salad, fried oysters. The only thing maybe for the unagi rice is that they should serve more unagi on top of the rice 🍚. I saw the bento boxes and they really look good. I think next time I'd love to try more sushi and sashimi and test a bit more, but so far, this one is our second best Japanese restaurant in Houston Texas!

Came to Yoshi Pearland at 7:15pm for Valentine’s dinner. We left at 9:10 pm 2 hrs later we were told sushi was 30 to 45 min behind we said ok! Well that 30 to 45 min turned into an 1.45 min. They ask us our order 3 time finally we ate. They then brought out our receipt and over charged us 12.95 for a 6.95 roll. My wife to the girl that she over charged us and the girl sent out the other waitress who told us that they gave us the 12.95 roll. We told her that was not what we ordered. We order the 6.95 roll and she told us” you ate it” and we said yes we did but you don’t have pictures of your food we don’t know what the rolls look like. She said let me talk to chef. From where ever the chef was he started to yell. So I could hear him, while he looked at us! So I told him that it was his mistake in a loud voice and the told me to lower my voice while the chef yelled at us. I told them if he could yell at us we could yell at his! He then said I’ll take the roll I paid for the Roll I ordered. They removed the Roll and I paid! There is no reason to treat the customer so rude when they took 2hrs to complete or order. We were not the only ones upset a couple never got there entire meal after 2 hrs of sitting there. Since the original crew left this place has gone down! We will no longer patronize this location! And let them know where they said thank you! We have visited this location since the first at least 20 times. But...
