A Pleasant Surprise: A food Journey After an Unexpected Detour
It was a chilly Saturday evening, and I was excitedly looking forward to a delightful dinner at a good restaurant in Pecos Texas. However, fate had other plans for me that night. As I approached the entrance of la terraza restaurant, I was politely informed that the establishment was hosting a private party and could not accommodate me ,but I was already halfway in. Disappointed but determined to salvage my evening, I ventured into the surrounding streets, hoping to stumble upon something equally satisfying. And that's how I discovered DEL BARRIO RESTAURANT.
The moment I stepped inside, a warm and inviting ambiance greeted me, instantly putting me at ease. The restaurant showed a tasteful an yet cozy atmosphere, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that created the perfect setting for an unforgettable dining experience.
To my relief, the friendly staff promptly welcomed Lexy and Denise with genuine smiles, assuring me that they had a table available. Their attentiveness and professionalism throughout the evening were truly commendable. From the hostess who accommodated me to the knowledgeable Denise who guided me through the menu, their warm and accommodating nature elevated my dining experience.
Speaking of the menu, it was a food treasure trove. With a diverse range of dishes inspired by various cuisines, there was something to entice every palate. I started my food adventure with echilada plate red and green sauces were amazing, three different salsas and tostadas..I also ordered a small menudo but got a large bowl...as I had mentioned I was traveling and had not eaten all day the ladies were excellent.I highly recommend this establishment.they made me laugh And felt cozy while being away from home alone working in the...
Read moreOver priced, poor quality food, the flavors are not there! The rice was over cooked and clumpy, the queso dip is Monterrey queso from a can that they add Rotel to and it turns it pink, but the texture is like pudding, it is not real cheese and does not drip like queso dip should. We could not eat it and sent it back. The beef fajitas are pencil thin and the entree for 1 has 1/4 lb of pencil thin beef cuts in it, if that. The flavor is not there either! The tiny size flour tortillas were small enough to fit in the palm of my small hand. The chile verde had an ok flavor but it was only meat and gravy, no onions or potatoes were seen. The sweet iced tea has no flavor and was not sweet. Nothing about the food that this restaurant serves warrants charging the prices that they charge, this was highway robbery! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. I was very disappointed with the poor quality of food served in Pecos Restaurants on this...
Read moreI absolutely love Mexican food! But, I've also had some that made me question the notion. This place has restored my faith!! It was the absolute best food/service I have experienced in quite a few years!! VERY reasonably priced!! Likely, undervalued!! I had chicken enchiladas with the red sauce! It was just right for my country....self!! If you're in Pecos, and you are hungry, do yourself a favor. Take the minimal detour to darken these doors! I promise! It'll cost you just as much, if not MORE, to get THIS full at any of the local drive throughs! It's NOT a mirage! A real jewel in the rough!! Thank you very much, ladies! I will absolutely be back!! I wish I would've had the wherewithal to snap a few pictures! As, presentation was spot on!! Jimmy John's can't keep a light on for these ladies!! That fire the Jimmy John's commercials are trying to put out started on soles of these folks' shoes! When you finish your order, you had...
