This is a tiny little place on 275 in Pecos. It is distinctly American. The menu items are not home made, but it is still hot and fresh. Menu items were changed out with fresh items in a timely manner. I was a tiny bit disappointed it wasn't a bigger selection. No sushi or sashimi. $8.99 for all you can eat Buffett. There were two kinds of canned soup. Egg drop and sweet and sour. I didn't find sweet and sour I was familiar with, but they do have one there only it is warmed. Pecos is small and I could tell from eating here there is a regular patronage established. Wait staff and workers are friendly. The sweet tea is sweet. Boy howdy! It was good. The sweet and fruit bar was super fresh and great palate cleansing items: melon, oranges, bananas, puddings, cookies. If I could change anything about the menu I'd add more veggies. Green beans, potatoes and mushrooms were available. There were no seafood items on the lunch Buffett Shrimp would be a nice addition. Some fresh raw fish would be a great addition! All in all, for the price, it was good food. I'd definitely eat here again. The place was clean, quiet, and the food was...
Read moreI pulled into Love's on 285 South & I 20 in Pecos, Texas to shut down. Did not want truck stop food. Walked 1.7 Miles to Golden Palace on 285 and to get some exercise in as well. The place was busy at 5:45 PM local time. This is a family operation as there was a small child running about in pajamas with protruding pacifier. Do not take your date to this place if you seek decor! Minimum items on the buffet and NOTHING is labeled! If you have allergies, you best ask what the items are. I had the egg drop soup which was not overly corn starched to death, but too much white pepper. The food on the buffet was edible but not authentic Chinese. As I got up to return to the buffet, the elderly lady, helping out cleared off my table, removing my lemonade and I wasn't finished yet! They offered apologies. The Lomein was terrible, but the fried rice was good. A...
Read moreI usually love to eat her . The food is good and the price is not highway robbery. HOWEVER, I came in to eat a few days ago. About two minutes after sitting down my boss called a told me that he needed me to answer a service call without delay. I asked the server for a go-box, then transferred the food on my plate to the box. When I went to the cashier she charged me for two meals. She had just seen me come in a few minutes before and knew that I didn't have time to eat my food, yet she was going to charge me for two people. I explained my situation and she wouldn't budge. I gave her the food and said that I won't be coming back to eat here if she's going to charge me twice. She didn't care. Sooo... I won't go back. I basically paid almost $13 for a spoon full of noodles. Not anymore. I was a frequent customer but they did not care...
