Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Pecos

I’ve eaten here many many many times in the last 5 years, and have always loved it, until today. I watched the meat server open a warming cabinet to get bread out during a Sunday rush, and accidentally drop the whole pan of bread. Then watched him and another staff pick everything up off the floor, put it back in the pan and continue to serve from it while myself and two other patrons as well as at least one other staff member watched. None of the staff stopped him or said anything about it. That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve seen in a restaurant. If he’s willing to do that with customers watching, what is he doing in the back when no customers can see….? A restaurant is based on trust between them and the customer. Trust that they are serving good SAFE food. After today, I no longer believe they are serving safe food. I can no longer trust them. Therefore will no longer be eating there, and recommend no one else...

First time at this location, walked in and the only people behind the counter was at the register, so I was waiting by the register to order then a lady walked to the other end of the counter and asked the person behind me what he wanted to order totally bypass me. Then another lady came up and asked me if I had ordered. I replied no and she told me that I wasn't in the right spot to order. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich plate, (deal of the day for Monday I think it's around $10.99) I was there on a Friday. So I wasn't expecting to get the plate for the Monday price but wasn't expecting it to be almost $ 18.00 without a drink. So I just ordered the sandwich and it was over $7.00. The bun was stale and the meat was a little cold. The one in Fort Stockton is much better and they let me get any meal for the deal of the day price.won't be going...

Terrible service. Called to place an order, person taking the order was distant and could be heard laughing. When i get there 15 minutes later my food isnt ready and im asked to pull up further. I wait 10 extra minutes before i finally get it. At no point did they ask if im needing any sauce or sides like pickles, onions, etc. Im forced to drive off since they have a line behind me. I get home and the brisket sandwich has 80 percent fat on it. Not cooked properly. No pickles onions or any sauce like i asked for over the phone. The sausage came as cheddar and jalapeno instead of just original sausage like i requested. Sad to see a place like this have such a terrible mindset towards making an order correctly. Will not be wasting so much money on such tragic food again here. If i could give negative stars i would...
