I had a Viper Alarm and when i needed a new remote i called Radio Active. They told me to come in and they had a remote i could purchase and they programmed it. I initially wasn't impressed with the customer service but chalked it up to maybe they were having a bad day. 2 weeks later my remote failed and so i went back. The guy was nicer this time and he made it to where my truck would lock and unlock but by no means was it operating my alarm system. It locked the doors but it did not chirp nor did my truck make the alarm sounds as it once did. For viper users who know about the blue light, it wasnt blinking. Thats not okay with me. When i got home and realized what was going on i called and asked about why it was doing it, they told me for them to dig any deeper and or to RE-program the remote i was gonna have to pay more money. Well i already paid for them to program it and if it messed up then why should i be paying again? Would have liked to leave a good review but i cant. Im just very disappointed with what happened in this situation. i fixed it by myself with the help of youtube and that just makes me very angry bc i just as easily could have put myself back to square one.
Like another user my remote now unlocks my doors when i stop my engine. Features that i never wanted are now on my truck and im not happy about it espescially since i paid alnost $200 for 15 minutes of their work. I would definitely go elsewhere. I actually wanted to give these guys 5 stars and i wanted to like them. We just moved here to bham and want a custom surround sound and a custom video monitoring system so i dont know who...
Read moreI have used these guys to help with my car audio since hearing their ads on the radio back in the 1980s as a college student. Back then it was an MG-B, and they installed this wonderful Alpine system with the component tweeters and woofers that I used to deafen myself on road trips following the Dead. Remember, you couldn't buy a car with a decent stereo back then, so having this system was amazing at that time.
I had them help me with a Civic Si in the 90s, after I got out of school, and the system included a nice tube subwoofer in the back seat, which no one was using anyway. I could do most of the installation myself, but when I inevitably ran into trouble, I went back to Radio Active for their expertise.
Then I got a job and a baby and a BMW M3 (4 doors) in the 2000s. The Blaupunkt that came with the car was very nice, but I needed an upgrade to be able to use an iPod. This went well beyond my knowledge, so I went back to Radio Active and another Alpine. The iPod went in the glove box and I could control it with the stereo knobs! Remember, this was more than 15 years ago, so this was all amazing technology at the time.
Now, after having a minivan for the past 10 years, I have a GTI. Rather than overpaying for the stereo upgrade from VW, I'm going with the basic radio and heading to Radio Active for some...
Read moreDropped my truck off at 10:30 to get warranty work done on the speakers I purchased and had installed by radioactive. I get a call at 1:30 from Wesley claiming he can't figure out what speaker is blown, so I get a ride back up there after they've had my truck for 3hours so I can show the so called "professionals" which speakers are blown. After a few minutes of Wesley arguing that the speakers only sound blown on one song, I showed him multiple songs where you could hear the blown speakers. He only replaced one speaker had a bad attitude and was very unprofessional. Terrible experience and I will not be doing anymore business with radioactive...
