Tonight I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of Kami Thai Sushi & Fusion, and it was an exceptional dining experience that seamlessly blended traditional flavors with innovative culinary techniques. I grew up as a military brat in Seoul, South Korea and had the opportunity to experience many different styles of food. My appetizer was Panang Curry Pot Stickers, The exterior was perfectly crisp, giving way to a savory filling that was both rich and aromatic ( the smell literally made you double take) . The accompanying Panang curry sauce provided a subtle heat and depth, enhancing the overall taste without overpowering the delicate flavors of the pot stickers. My entree was Tonkatsu Ramen, which was a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to authentic Japanese cuisine. The broth was a harmonious blend of robust flavors, achieving a creamy consistency that is characteristic of a well-prepared tonkatsu broth. The noodles were cooked to perfection( they were not spaghetti noodles), maintaining an ideal balance between firmness and tenderness. Generous slices ( big ass slices) of tender pork complemented the dish, absorbing the broth’s flavors beautifully. A soft-boiled egg with a slightly runny yolk added a luxurious touch, while fresh vegetables introduced a refreshing crunch, rounding out this comforting and satisfying bowl ( I put the bowl to my face and got every drop out) . My experience at Kami Thai Sushi & Fusion’s soft opening was outstanding. The Panang Curry Pot Stickers and Tonkatsu Ramen exemplify the restaurant’s commitment to delivering high-quality, flavorful dishes that honor traditional Asian cuisines while incorporating modern twists. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable and delectable dining adventure. I shall see you again this weekend ❤️😂 . I added a pic of the Ramen, sorry I ate the potstickers too fast with...
Read moreFirst things first, the food is excellent and the service was friendly. We both had a garden salad, hubs tried the Pad Thai and I had the combo sashimi.
They were crowded at 11 am on a Tuesday, so I expect they'll do well. And I'm happy for that, heaven knows Pell City needs more than hamburgers, chicken, bad pizza, and more burgers. 🙄
The reasons for less than 5 stars are 1. the music was so loud we couldn't really talk during lunch, and it was a date lunch. Also, my husband ended up with the wrong drink just because it was so loud he and the sweet waitress couldn't hear each other.
I got my plate like 10-15 minutes after my husband's arrived. I was starving!
We were still hungry when we left. The portions are just really small. That's ok if you're paying $30 for lunch, but it was close to $50 tip included, so leaving hungry is not cool.
So, we'll probably go again sometime for a special treat, the fish was especially fresh! But it probably won't be a regular haunt for us, unfortunately.
We do wish them and all local restaurants the best. Except Pell City Steak House. We do not wish them...
Read moreSo thankful this local restaurant in Pell City. Assuming they are still doing the soft opening I notice the lot next door is locked off for them. Publix parking helps. This place was packed and I was concerned about the wait especially with a hungry four year old, we were told 30, waited 20 minutes. And got updated calls through our wait by Katelyn(who was awesome) we sat towards the back and had a great view of the space. Our service was great, our food was AMAZING. Literally had to fight off the spouse just for pics for this review!!! Our appetizer was potstickers recommended by our waitress… SO GOOD. Didn’t even get a photo of them. The sauce…. SO good. Tad on the spicy side so the kid didn’t like but whatever. Kids chicken and fries are hard to beat. I mean that literally. I don’t even remember exactly what roll we ordered but it had tuna, some sort of red fish eggs & jalapeño. It was inhaled. Pad Thai was good! Very impressed. Very full. Pleased. And definitely will be back to try more on the menu. Hoping the business...
