Our friends are picky and they recommended this small eatery to us, praising how they use fresh ingredients here, make everything from scratch and it’s a small family business.
We loved some things, our server wasn’t the best, maybe we caught them too busy.
The thin pizza crust was great! If you like New York style thin pizza crust you’d love theirs. On the menu it’s called La Sotille and it comes with their fresh tomato sauce, low-fat mozzarella, fresh basil and a topping of your choice.
They accommodated our wish to top half the pizza with spinach for me; the other half, my husband wanted sausage, olives and pepperoni. Loved the crust! Just know the olives are brined olives, so they add extra saltiness.
Our friends ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. It was fresh, pounded extra thin, hand breaded, pan fried to a delicate crispness and topped with the fresh tomato sauce and Parmesan. The best I’ve had, not that I’m an aficionado, because I’m happy with the frozen thick cut deep fried version, but this was definitely superior to that. This was our friends’ second time at this restaurant and this dish is becoming their favorite.
The owner and his son both checked on us.
Our server didn’t refill our empty glasses until we asked. Then she didn’t fill my husband’s glass! That was weird.
All in all I’d go back for the Chicken Parmigiana and the pizza. Oh, and from scratch bread and olive oil for dipping is brought...
Read moreFirst off, the food is nothing short of amazing. The daily specials are the way to go, especially the following: Burrata, Grilled Octopus and my favorite, the braised short rib with Parmesan risotto. The veal ravioli in brown butter crispy sage sauce is real winner. Mussels here are amazing and the Lasagna was the best my brother has ever had. The Pizza is perfect in every way and the main server's wife makes the most incredible deserts. There's an almond cake that goes quickly and its to die for. If the cakes aren't available get the "deconstructed" canoli. You'll be sword-fighting with the spoons over the cream. The place is small and can get full quickly. Reservations (especially during peak hours and weekends) are strongly recommended. Once out of every ten or so visits the kitchen has gotten backed up. This happens do the best of places. Don't come for a "quick bite" as good Italian food is never rushed and the meal should be paced accordingly. Relax and enjoy yourself from the first piece of bread to the last sip of coffee and you'll know why this place is beloved in the community and enjoys a well deserved high rating. It is a family operation and they take a great pride in what they do. This is gourmet Italian prepared by legit Italians...not the typical red-sauce pizza /...
Read moreThe wife suggested a nice Italian restaurant and bru-sket-ta found us!!
We arrived around 7:30pm - 8:00pm and as with any great restaurant the place was Filled to capacity with happy diners with more arriving.
The seating specialist was amazing possibly because she was the owner! We were seated in the time quoted about 15 mins. After seating we were whisked stay to enjoy an amazing Italian dinner.
Starting with the house bread and flavored evoo. This was soo good!! Like my father-in-law says “Olive Garden owes me an apology.”
After the house bread was the wine recommended by the waiter. I was skeptical… like I’m a sweet red kinda guy but this Chianti reserve was like the wine that made me a believer. It should be noted that it was imported from Italy.
The kids ordered pizza and there made to order.
I had the bow tie because it was spicy. I loved it and the little peppers served with it soo good I had like 4 of those peppers. I ate all! As in no left overs, it was that good.
The wife had a salmon dish that was seasoned perfectly and cooked with a crust on the outside and a moist center.
Needless to say these was a great evening and all because of...
