⭐ 1-Star Review: IHOP or Petting Zoo? Absolutely Disgusting.
I came to this IHOP with my family for a simple breakfast. What we got instead was a complete violation of health standards, common sense, and basic human decency.
We walked in and were met with... nothing. No greeting, no host, no staff in sight. The front was deserted. Clearly understaffed, and clearly unprepared to run a functioning restaurant.
We placed our order, but moments later, a large group entered—with a stroller. Not a baby stroller. A dog stroller. Inside were three dogs, which they proceeded to remove and let roam freely around the restaurant. Let me be clear: these were not service animals. They were pets. And they were walking around a food service establishment like it was a dog park.
This is a blatant violation of Florida Administrative Code 64E-11.002(6), which clearly states: “Live animals are not allowed on the premises of a food establishment, except for service animals in designated outdoor areas.”
This wasn’t just unsanitary—it was dangerous. My husband has asthma. I have severe allergies. Within minutes, my eye began to swell shut. I tried to find our server to report the issue—she was nowhere to be found. I had to walk into the back of the restaurant to ask for help. Staff couldn’t even locate her.
When the manager finally emerged, I explained the situation. Did he ask the dog owners to leave? No. Did he enforce health regulations? No. He made excuses about staffing and offered me a 20% discount. As if that makes up for the fact that I had to leave without eating, in physical distress, because he allowed people to turn a restaurant into a kennel.
I didn’t come to IHOP to save money. I came to enjoy a meal with my family. If I wanted to eat cheap, I’d have stayed home and made pancakes myself. What I didn’t expect was to be exposed to airborne allergens, bacteria, and the risk of disease—all because someone thought their “fur babies” deserved a seat at the table.
This was outrageous, unsanitary, and absolutely unacceptable. IHOP corporate needs to investigate this location immediately. If a health inspector had walked in, they would’ve shut it down on the spot. Maybe they should.
Pets do not belong in restaurants. Period. And if your staff can’t enforce that, then you’re not running a restaurant—you’re running...
Read moreI honestly have no words. This is the worst place ever to eat something at night. For starters, there's no management present at night, only one waitress and only one "cook" as we were told by the waitress herself. We were a party of 6 and we had to wait about 50 minutes for the worst sandwiches ever. I think no even a dishwasher person made our sandwiches. Awful, lettuce no even washed or rinsed, nothing that was described in the menu was served to us. No cheese in the sandwiches and when we asked for the avocado that was supossed to be served in the sandwiches we were served some rotten avocado by separate. Something nobody would be courageous to taste. Whoever who read this, do.yourself a favor dont risk your health and waste your time and money going to this place. Its a place to just sit down chit chat and drink some water as I saw some young people doing. The worst place, we feel sorry for Katleen the waitress having to put the face for this kind of operation. She must be really needed of a job to just put up to this as well as the person back in the kitchen who has no idea of whats in their menu or how to present and serve a simple sandwich. Disastrous. A failure. Horrific. Waste of time and money and a total risk to your health because they dont know what are they doing. They should no be licensed to be in business if they can not have a manager, a real cook, and more than one person as service staff. People stay away from this place. I gave them one star so I...
Read moreSo it's my birthday and my husband treated me for breakfast. I was so excited to go to IHOP. It's been a long time but I never expected the experience we got. The place was slow and the service was slower. I ordered waffle ( gluten free) with steak and eggs. It took almost an hour to get out food and my waffles were not ready. The food was bland or over salted. The server avoided us and ignored us when I tried to ask for water or to let her know that the ice coffee tasted burnt. (How thou?) So I was told to wait another 5 to 10 minutes for the waffle... I sad sure mind you I wasn't told there was a problem with the kitchen till after I ate all my food... She just said it's coming.. so I get my food to go thinking ok I'll have a brunch lunch. I really tried to communicate with the server but by the end I just wanted to pay and go home.. I didn't tip very well and feel a little bad about it but it was such a bad experience. I couldn't even get more water or ask before she rushed away. I thought I'll pay go home and enjoy the to gooment with my daughter. Well the waffle I waited for was not edible. It had these black things all over it and it was soggy like a sponge. I did not eat it. There's more negative to comment on but please don't go here save your self. I have never posted like this before and if you have read this whole rant thank you for your time. I hope your next birthday breakfast...
