This location consists of poorly trained, slow moving workers who lack basic customer service skills. I waited in line inside standing for over 30 minutes while the crew moved about wirhout urgency leaving a line of over 11 people waiting staring at them. While it looked like the majority of them were dedicated to drive thru & door dash/ uber eats, 1 or 2 would mosey to the counter with a nonchalant attitude to serve 1 customer at a time at their pace. Then walk of again moseying around leaving customers asking each other why they are so disorganized only to return with an attitude to serve the next individual who had been waiting a long while. No one bothered to say we'll be with you, we are backed up, thank you for your patience, nothing. Upon finally getting to the counter I was served by a lack luster female who had the nerve to serve me small pieces of meat with my meal. Mind you, Im in line over 30 minutes because they choose to move at a snails pace while joking amongst themselves. There waa enough staff to dedicate at least 3 people to quickly move the line that was accumulated inside. asked how many pieces came with a small stew peas & she stated 5. I proceeded to walk out then checked my meal at the car. 2 of the pieces barely constitute a bite. I have a ton of beans than anything else. So I went back inside to ask if I could perhaps have another piece or even pay for it. The same woman lied to my face when I stated she told me 5 pieces come with the meal. I showed her what she served me. She said she said 4 to 5 pieces depending on the sizes. She is a damn liar. I asked if I could perhaps get another piece or pay for it. I was told no, Id have to buy it by the pound. Trye customer service would've acknowledged the unnecessary long wait and further provided an additional piece rather than giving a customer a condescending hard time. Then when I asked for a manager, how convenient she said it was her. If she was the manager she lacks the basic fundamentals on managerial duties, no customer service & clearly does not know how to manage herself nor her team efficiently & professionally. Most importantly she lacks integrity & is a liar. Then when I asked for her superior she further lied & stated that individual would be gone for a month and would not provide me a name. Unprofessional, poorly trained, messy appearing crew who look miserable & clearly have no integrity as they will lie to your face. The food is good but the rift raft working there need home training and professional training. They are clearly not vetted for the tasks they are hired to do. Absolutely disgusting. Corporate will be hearing from me. However if they feel comfortable treating their customers this way it's clear that this is tolerated from the highe ups. Again,...
Read moreI recently visited Dutch Pot in Pembroke Pines, and it was an authentic culinary experience that truly delivered on the flavors of Jamaica. As someone who enjoys Caribbean cuisine, I was excited to see what Dutch Pot had to offer, and I left thoroughly impressed.
Ambiance: The ambiance at Dutch Pot is casual and inviting, with a focus on simplicity. It’s more of a quick-service spot than a sit-down restaurant, but the atmosphere is still warm and welcoming. The decor features vibrant colors and Jamaican-themed artwork, which adds to the overall feel of the place. It’s the kind of spot where you can pop in for a quick meal or grab some takeout and still get a taste of authentic, home-cooked Jamaican food.
Food: The food at Dutch Pot is, without a doubt, the main attraction. I tried the oxtail, which was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The rich, savory gravy was absolutely delicious, and the portion size was generous. I also sampled the jerk chicken, and it had that perfect balance of smoky, spicy, and juicy flavors that jerk is known for. The sides, including rice and peas, fried plantains, and steamed cabbage, were all well-prepared and complemented the main dishes nicely. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors were spot on, transporting me straight to the Caribbean with each bite.
Service: The service at Dutch Pot was friendly and efficient. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Despite being busy, they kept things moving smoothly, ensuring that customers were served promptly. It’s a no-frills, straightforward kind of service, which fits perfectly with the casual vibe of the place.
Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which is always a good sign, especially for a quick-service spot. The counter area where you order was tidy, and the dining area was clean, with tables being promptly cleared and wiped down between customers. The open kitchen allowed me to see the food being prepared, and it was evident that cleanliness and organization were a priority.
Overall Experience: Overall, Dutch Pot in Pembroke Pines is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Jamaican food. The flavors are bold and true to tradition, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Whether you’re a fan of Caribbean cuisine or just looking to try something new, Dutch Pot delivers a satisfying and flavorful experience. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu, and I highly recommend it to anyone...
Read moreThe first time 2017 I went to the Dutch pot on Pines Boulevard it was a delight. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. I called friends and families especially my American friends and told them about it and everyone actually lived in that restaurant. However, I moved to Plantation after that and worked in Ft. Lauderdale where I visit the one on Commercial, they did not disappoint at all. I recently moved back to Pines in June 2018 and started visiting Dutch pot on Pines again, oh my God, the food was a total disappointment and the staff was extremely rude. I went back a couple of time thereafter especially different days and the same rude disrespectful staff. I reached out to my friends who used to go and they stated the same thing, but did not want to tell me because they didn’t want me to feel bad, especially when I big-up them so much. I had to rebuke them and told them they should have said something or complained to management. Well today, June 28, 2019 at 2:30 pm I went there since my grandchild ask me to get her some stewpeas and white rice, when I got home, the food tasted real staled, it was not fresh and there were pieces of ginger in it to distort the flavour. I believe that the we’re selling yesterday’s left overs before they sell the fresher food. I called to complain and I was put on hold until the phone disconnected and when I called back several times, it was busy. So I decided to write this review that upper management needs to get better help with good customer service. They must be mindful that we are their customers and without us there won’t be a business. Also, that food was over $25. I don’t mind paying the money but bad food and bad customer service does not go hand in hand. I can honestly tell you they have lost several business from my friends and I. Some people do not mind be treated with disrespect, but I show respect at all time especially when someone is handing your food but this is awful. Regards! One star is too good, I want to give them a quarter...
