I recently had the DISPLEASURE of visiting Dwinkey’s Bahamian Restaurant this past weekend. I’ve passed it many times before and finally decided to stop in on Sunday morning.
Upon entering, I saw THREE staff members in clear view. Not one acknowledged my arrival they continued their personal conversations, followed by silence and aimless walking back and forth. Eventually, I broke the ice with a “Good morning,” which was met with a faint, unenthusiastic response. I decided to order chicken souse and Johnny cake. When I tried to ask a few questions about the menu, I was ignored until I repeated myself THREE times, only to receive another faint and unhelpful answer.

Read moreI stumbled across this place with a Google search of Bahamian restaurants near me, reviews were great so I called in a order. I ordered 2 boiled fish and grits with 2 added sides of Johnny cake, because it's either with grits or Johnny cake. I understand why it's one or the other, the Johnny cake is a huge slice. I couldn't eat it all but it was ALL I expected and more. It was made to order, so it took 30 mins, but the freshness of it all is so worth it. The seasoning was perfect, I didn't have to add anything to it. This will be my new go to spot for...
