Taco Depot — Restaurant in Pembroke

Stopped by after my VA appointment. The salsa had 0 tastable spices. I could have ate diced tomatoes out of the can and had the same flavor. One of the dishes we ordered was a bean burrito. The beans inside were more of a soup consistency. The size of the burrito was descent and it was covered in queso. I was a little disappointed that the bean burrito came with 0 sides for 8.99 The fajitas were good and so was the rice that came with it. The price was average. 10.99 The kids quesadilla was descent size. And it came with rice and beans for 6.99. The only issue was it was full of onions and pepper. I would guess that most kids dont want to eat onions and peppers. Now the service The hostess was nice and seat us quickly. The server took for ever and there was really no one in the restaurant. 90% of the time she set their playing on her phone. MY WIFE ORDERED A HORCHATA! And she loved the taste. But getting any kind of refill was a nightmare. After we were about done eating, my wife wanted a refill on the Horchata. Literally she came back and said they have to make more. I know right! Cut them some slack, people run out of things. Normally I would but 30 minutes prior my wife ordered a horchata and they could have made more.Or at least known it was low. I guess that cell phone was more important. The price was average, the atmosphere was unique, and the quality of food was average (except the bean burrito) Why a 2 star. The service was horrible. A little communication goes a long way. Tonight I went to pick up my order that I placed on line like normal at 6:30pm. It says ready in 40mins due to the weather I waited a hour. I walk in and the lady in the brown sweat shirt at the register said nothing. After she finished typing stuff she walked off , she came back to answer the phone and walked off again eventually someone else came in behind me. After TEN MINS a guy says to us who’s next I give my name and say I have a pick up. Next I see him cleaning tables. I’m still calm maybe someone else has it . The same lady in brown sweat shirt comes back with a bag in her hand and gives to someone sitting still she doesn’t say anything then she seats the family that was waiting behind me 😹 The sweet delivery guy comes and I ask him if i could just get an update on my order I get it may be short staffed but no one is helping me. ( now 3 families are behind me in line) he comes back and says my order did not go thru their new system so it was never acknowledged. They could start it now’. Needless to say I now have to cook. It sucks I waited over 20 mins in front of their counter for food that wasn’t even being prepared all. I thank him for at least giving me an update would not recommend… oh you never got my order?...

Ordered my food around 4:45- to go order. Simple, very simple order that should have taken 10 minutes to prepare. Told 40 minutes. I get there 40 minutes later told to give them another 10 minutes. I did, still no food ready. Restaurant was not busy at all. Went back in to see about my order. Waited another 10 minutes for it to be done. Let me say a taco salad with just beef, lettuce and cheese and a side of queso cheese should not have taken an hour and 5 minutes to prepare at all!!!! Taco salad had water at the bottom with barely any cheese on it. The food does taste good you just need to work on time management. This was the second time I ordered from here and it took forever! Not sure I’ll be back. Please don’t say you’re not a fast food restaurant it takes time to make the food cause the beef should already be prepped so few scoops in a shell throw some lettuce and cheese on it box it put a few spoon fulls of queso in a dish should NOT take an hour and 5 minutes to prepare!! It stinks because I love to support local...
