Was excited that there was a new breakfast option in town. Issues I initially chalked up to being a new restaurant and growing pains are not getting better.
First off the food. Quality has been pretty decent, but as others have mentioned the portion sizes are inconsistent as could be. The first time in my breakfast was huge and I had leftovers. The next time I ordered that same meal it was a little over half the size. I've never seen a "dollop of grits", but there it was. They also frequently forget items, as if they don't know their menu and don't review the order when serving. Best of luck getting that biscuit and gravy or toast you ordered. And if you order to go, order double. As seen on the plincludes pic, it ain't a big breakfast (was when I last ordered the same exact thing for dining in).
When it comes to service, this is the biggest strike. They just seem extremely disorganized as is nobody knows their position or what to do next. Based on the layout, they need a dedicated host/hostess and to go order position. Having servers break off to seat and ring up, then go to the kitchen, then back to tables is organizational suicide. If there has been a manager on duty, it is never apparent because nothing is being managed. This isn't to say there aren't good ataff. We've always had pleasant interactions and didn't feel ignored, but because of the disorganization it was easy to tell which staff were motivated with good work ethic, and who was there to just collect a check.
Finally, the atmosphere is fine. It is a quintessential Huddle House with the modernized diner vibe. It has always been clean and approachable.
I hope that management is able to get a handle on the staff tasking and improve the overall service because I think all the other issues stem from that. If they continue on this path though, the customers will leave and this will just be one more failed business...
Read moreI'm not usually one to post negative reviews on a business because I understand that people have bad days, however after today's experience I felt the need to speak about it and hopefully management will take note! I have ordered to go from here several times now since opening and everytime it has been something...first couple of times it was minor things like forgetting to put silverware, leaving off the toast, adding an ingredient when asked to leave off specifically (inconvenient but not worth a bad review) ordered a breakfast biscuit last weekend and the biscuit was not cooked, it was pure white and raw dough, could not eat it (still no bad review) but today's order was worth talking about. Paid $17 for an omelet and hashbrowns, waited 20min past my scheduled pick up time (not a huge issue I understand they may have been busy) but the food was overcooked and stone cold! The egg was hard and brown with the ingredients just thrown in the middle and the cheese was not even melted, hashbrowns were so overcooked and hard that I thought they might actually break a tooth! I'd say more training is apparently needed in the kitchen and I really hope yall can get it together...
Read moreCame here on Sunday September 28th after church. With three servers 2 of which were behind the counter had us wait by the door with no acknowledgement. They saw us. Made eye contact and walked right by us. Not a hello. Not a we will have you seated in just a second. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I don't know who owns this place but I guess they will just hire anyone these days. I've been a server for many many years & I would never treat customers that way. Because I understand that without customers you have no business or money. Maybe instead of filling in the position with a warm body make sure your workers will make your customers feel seen & welcomed. Not completely ignored and unwanted. Im not one to complain about service because I get it. But there were several open tables and workers just looking at us. So we left and took our business and money elsewhere. Shameful. And we wonder why businesses in Pembroke don't last. Was hoping this place would be...
