Haphazard, discombobulated customer interface. They want to be too much, but they’re not doing any of it consistently well. We’ve been 3 times; our 1st visit we waited 2 hours for a pizza. Then, the cheese tasted vegan, which means like a mayonnaise flavor. It was gross! 2nd visit, just coffee drinks and they were decently made. 3rd visit, today, brunch was a lot of work! The burrito was mostly rice with a small smattering of eggs. Peach French toast was just ok- nothing special. How about a dollop of fresh made whip cream?I had to send my mocha back to be remade- the milk was completely scalded and they left out the Chocolate. The remake was proper temp, but not properly balanced; it was mostly milk. At this price point, baristas should be well trained to not scald milk and ingredients should be measured. The wait was long to order, long to receive food and we were underwhelmed. The concept is big, but they seem to lack capability to execute all of it at once. We need a place like this, especially on OMP., but it will be a long while before we try Mission Proper again.

Neat place for a lunch stop off. Has a quaint atmosphere and cool kitschy vibe. Nice outdoor seating area is available and part is covered as well. Wanted to give more stars here but the for did once the order was placed was nearly 30 minutes and in the end the flatbreads were undercooked. The boys didn’t like the cheese pizza, my wife didn’t finish her ricotta and asparagus flatbread, and I did enjoy my Caprese flatbread but also noticed the crust was undercooked and wet. I would give them a second chance here though for sure.

Inside and outside spaces both were gorgeous and relaxing. We enjoyed the cake, buns, and coffee then lounged on the patio and played jenga and cornhole. These are the kinds of places we seek out as a family when passing through but I would love a place like this near home too. Also loved the art shop Tinker and found some great things. There was plenty of room here mid-morning but I imagine they will get more busy as word gets out.

A beautiful facility in a beautiful setting. I was there twice in three days, happy hour and a few days later for what I hope would be a pleasant breakfast on the veranda.

The happy hour drinks are very good, love the G&T. It appears the crowd hasn’t found the place yet so happy hour service was good.

The breakfast options, I had quiche and pastry were average. I found the breakfast environment disappointing. The staff needs training. For example, fresh pastry served on a wet plate. Coffee (latte) served cool. Pastries served cool without an offer for warming.

The music on the veranda at 8 AM was so loud that conversation with my friend was strained. I did ask one of the staff please reduce the music, to no avail. We left earlier than we wanted.

I hope they succeed, because it adds one more option to the peninsula. But they certainly have to work on...

Mission Proper is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Old Mission. We stumbled upon it during an impromptu adventure and were treated to an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the chef's warmth and hospitality stood out. Despite our visit falling outside of regular hours, she went above and beyond to accommodate our family, ensuring we enjoyed a delightful breakfast!!

Each dish was crafted with care and skill, making it evident that passion is at the heart of this restaurant.

We’re so grateful to have discovered this incredible spot and even more grateful to have met the wonderful owner!! We can’t wait to return. Mission Proper is truly a shining example of exceptional food and heart with...
