Gia Visto — Restaurant in Penn Hills

First time we went, there were just a few other people. the server was attentive and nice, and the food was great. We were happy to find a great place close to home. So we went second time. Completely different story. The place was packed with the line of people by the door. The hostess looked frantic, but finally noticed us and took our name. We decided to wait for a table inside. In about 5 minutes another couple came in, dressed fancier than us (we just had jeans and hoodies on). They were greeted by the same hostess with a lot more enthusiasm and signed in too. Another 10 minutes and 2 other parties behind us. So the hostess comes out and calls for a group of 4 that were behind us. We think, ok different table demands. But then she comes back to get the couple that came after us and takes them to their table. After waiting for 15 more minutes another party got seated before us. I tried getting the attention of the lady, but she said she was busy and will be back and walked away. at that point we left. can't think of any reason except we didn't look nice enough to be treated better. 3 stars for good food on the first try. Not for vegans or vegetarians. We waited 30 minutes for bread, then my vegetarian dish that had no mention of shrimp came with shrimp on it. When I told the owner I didn’t want it remade Bc I was worried about contamination they were very rude. The owner charged us for our child’s fruit and drink and we left. There were some rude comments exchanged from the owner saying vegetarians do eat shrimp and it’s just an oversight. Then yelled at me for making her waitress cry??? Went here for a party. They did not know how to handle a large group and should never have agreed to book the party. The wait staff barely came around and when they did they rarely came back with drinks. They looked stressed the whole time. They did not keep track of what table ordered what. Food was served by dish not by table, as a result one table was eating at different times. The food wasn't even very good. The chicken was decent, but small and mostly breading.
