Taqueria Atexquita — Restaurant in Penns Grove

If you’re looking for good food at a decent price with excellent service, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Just ordered tacos with their “Taco Tuesday” special. I purposely called earlier today to find out what tacos were included in their 3 for $5 deal. After my wife sat on hold for 16 minutes waiting to order, I decided to go to the restaurant to order our food. My wife went to pick the food up and after paying and looking at the receipt, she saw that we were charged $12 for four tacos that were supposed to be included in the 3 for $5 deal. I ordered FOUR pork tacos and TWO chicken tacos which would equal SIX, a derivative of three. My wife was told that the tacos had to be the same for the 3 for $5 which was not explained when I called earlier in the day. When my wife said that this information should’ve been relayed when I called earlier, she was told that the female was busy and wasn’t asked that specific question. Instead of trying to rectify the situation and giving a refund because ya know, customer service is supposed to mean something, they told my wife that they’d have to recook the order because the tacos included in the 3 for $5 only have one tortilla, and the ones we received had two. When my wife asked to speak to a manager after she was spoken to with pure ignorance from the female who works the register, she was told that the manager doesn’t speak English but that she could wait to talk to him when he became available as he knows a little English. The young female who works in the front is incredibly ignorant, disrespectful and needs to take a class on customer service. I will NEVER return to this disgrace of a restaurant, and if I could give zero...

Compliant regarding employee named Marco. Provided the worst customer service over a wrong order ever.

My boyfriend and I recently became frequent fliers to Taqueria Atexquita, but one employee alone will change that over our experience today.We always order the same thing. A steak burrito with a side of rice and [refried] beans, a kids quesadilla meal with chicken as the meat, and 2 churros. We ordered as usual today.

When we arrived home (20 minutes away) we found our order to be grossly incorrect. The burrito was some monstrosity drenched in green sauce and only contained black beans and weird looking steak inside. The side of beans was missing completely. The kids meal wasn't a kids meal at all, it was a big corn tortilla with barely any chicken or cheese inside, also missing the sides indicated on the menu. No churro's at all.

We called back and got the same man, Marco, that took the order whose attitude was HORRIFIC. Insisting with a terrible attitude the order was correct and that we, the customers who order the same thing at least once a week, we're wrong. Worst customer service ever over a wrong order.

No attempt at resolution was provided by Marco. He stated we'd have to come back in TOMORROW to speak...

The food is fresh. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. I was served my food, and the music was turned up, giving my culinary experience a huge boost. I folded up my first chorizo taco, adding some amazing homemade sauce that they place on the table, when your food arrives, took a bite, and literally went to another place. The sad part is, I have driven past this place a hundred times, noting the "taco" sign, and one night, me and my honey decided to stop for a bite to eat, "something different ". Well...we were amazingly surprised. This restaurant is pure, authentic Mexican cuisine, that goes way above and beyond "tacos". The menu consists of an array of dishes that will suit anyone. The staff is pleasant, and as I mentioned before, the food is fresh, thoughtfully prepared,and absolutely delicious. After my meal, and with weak legs, lol. I had to find the cook, shake his hand, and compliment him on his culinary talents. This has now become my favorite restaurant, and the best part is: It's right here in town. This is a must try establishment. I am soooo happy I discovered this restaurant, and I hope that they prosper, and stay there forever. I can't wait to visit them again, for an amazing Mexican...
