ZZ Sushi Kitchen — Restaurant in Pennsville Township

Edit: i was hesitant at first but that was also opening weekend. I continued ordering through them and every single time since, theyve been so caring and asked thoughts on everyone's experiences. I think they really took feedback to heart. Their portions have become much more like other places, sometimes even bigger. The use fresh shiso leaves! My entire first experience was wrong and not only will you find a staff that sincerely cares about every individual's preferences and experiences, but the food has only gotten better and better over time. I highly recommend this place to everyone that likes hibachi and/or sushi!

Original post: Smaller portions than other places but my biggest complaint was when I ordered salmon roe. Ive had good roe, bad roe, and in between roe in my time. Its my favorite thing to order but this place had flavorless salmon roe. It didnt even have any brine flavor. Im conviced it was fake. I ordered the “Shrimp Fried Rice” and much to both my surprise and chagrin I got a “unique meal”. For people who know me, I’m not an “experimenter”. I like freshly cooked food plain. This was a much needed surprise as the shrimp were perfectly cooked and I mean perfect - if you love to cook you’ll understand what I’m saying. The rice was basically fried rice minus peas and carrots with a thick brown sauce on it which was pretty good. Two critiques:1) explain that this isn’t traditional fried rice because I would have said “make it that way! lol”; and easy on the sauce. Just take your $ and fo to GreenTea, this was way to much money for bad food... I am pretty sure they just walk over to save a lot and buy everything cheap they see... this was very bad, the food is greasy, bland and just all around bad. For $90+ you should be getting a decent meal for two people this isn't even to buffet level food, this was unfortunately disgusting...Unless I hear that a huge change happened this was a one and done here but at this rate they won't be around long enough to try again... please put in some effort you can do good, don't be crazy gready make good food and you can change $$ people will pay...
