Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Pensacola

So disappointed that this business handled a simple request the way they did, because although I like the smoothies, the other items are only ok. Knowing they don't care about their customers or the environment is way more important to me. I will not frequent this business again, but I will explain exactly why.

The first time I stopped in at this location, 2 smoothies had just been finished & the customer was upset because of something & asking for new ones (they were supposed to be sugar free, I think). When it was my turn, I offered to purchase one so it wouldn't reflect so poorly on the staff. They were really nice to me that day, and I decided I would return.

I've eaten or grabbed a drink at Tropical Smoothie Cafe 8ish times since. I've tried nearly all the smoothies & a variety of the menu items. The food is generally disappointing, mushy, not very flavorful, but the smoothies are good and I'd convinced myself they were legit getting to know me and that kept me coming back. After today, I realize the flaw in my thinking.

Today, the assistant manager, Tammy, was just completely nonchalant and then so rude to me, I've been convinced that I need to share the experience.

I pulled up to the back of the location because I drive an electric car & my miles were pretty low. There's a plug for the entire building back there. The employees were gathered out back smoking, and I tried to catch one as the scuttled back inside to ask if I could use this plug. After making eye contact with someone I recognized, they ducked into the store & the door slammed. The lunch rush was starting. I waited in line, ordered, and then asked if I could plug into their building.

Tammy said she had to make a call. I waited for her to return with an answer, but she ignored me standing at the counter & went straight into making orders. I figured they were busy at the moment & I sat down. When my food came with no answer, I went out & plugged in.

I should explain that, as I told Tammy, this would cost them about 40 cents if it were plugged in all day. I hoped to charge my car for 3 hours while I took my son to a movie.

After eating, I went again to the counter where the line had cleared. I waited for someone's attention and had to call to someone. Tammy continued to ignore me as one of the employees shrugged & said, "He says no."

I asked for explanation and if I could explain, but she interrupted me, saying he said no, he's in a meeting, she's in charge, she's the assistant manager, and so forth.

I went out to the back where my car was blocked in by an employee. Tammy came out & said to unplug, which I was starting to do, but I straightened and again asked if there was perhaps just a misunderstanding, maybe the owner didn't know what I was asking for. She closed the door, the employee moved their car which was blocking mine in, and I left.

None of this would have really mattered to me if it weren't for the attitude and willful ignorance of this manager. The outlet in question is uncovered and shared by the entire building. I suppose I could have asked at another of the business, but I just left.

I'm so surprised by how I was treated, really over nothing that would've impacted them much, that I'm compelled to share this pedantic & rather boring story.

We won't return. Wish they were educated about technology or had been willing to learn....

I just want to say that I used to like tropical smoothie but the problem is you think you guys you think I'm loitering but I am not I don't know what give you guys that idea I think you guys are ended up it the only thing you care about is your own people you don't care about in Spanish people that's the main reason that's the main reason I want to leave Pensacola cuz you people are nothing but haters you can't respect to Spanish people you just want to put us out because and it's not my fault that my payment does not come in till Friday unless her right now that my payment is absolutely pending I have to wait until that clears and I'm very disappointed at tropical smoothie are they both of the customers I've been nice for nothing watch I'm going to call corporate and I'm going to tell you my mind cuz I don't understand now I'm going to be outside here I already have somewhere to go to you don't have to worry about me anymore it's like I said it you got some respect the homeless person I have to wait here until the 28th to get my payment and you guys want to treat me wrong well that's the last time I go with you you guys are not even only care about your own people now what am I supposed to do oh boy can you believe this you guys are used to be sweet to me but I can see you're not for now on I'm going to go on a different direction I don't want to buy the tropical smoothie anymore I should be disappointed at you guys for mistreating me I can't have that no more I'm sorry but you let me down 👎 because if you guys see me there if I go past there then you guys are going to call the cops on me I haven't done nothing wrong now I did not ask nothing for nobody they asked me they were going to get it from me but you don't have to get all like mean to me I...

I know a friend that used to work here , this places treats their staff horrible! The Manger Fred is absolutely a horrible rude person not o my does he not treat his customers with respect he disrespects he’s staff members I feel so sorry for them ! And to add on I went in for some food and a drink the young ladies who worked Sunday were absolutely slow and they continued to gossip about the mess that conspired working tropical smoothie along with talking down about other team members just flat out disappointed and disgusting! Fred is running a circus in there it doesn’t look clean back there or sanitary it looked like there is mold build up on the walls let alone they don’t clean their blenders it had mold at the bottom they use sink water I asked for a cup of water and they put a scoop of ice and sink water and handed it to me . Who wants sink water?? You can se the girls touching their face and hair and then going to make customer food .. everything is all over the place the young lady who was at the cashier named started with “Ar” was absolutely rude with no reason .. if you hate your job why work here ? I will never buy here again Fred needs to be fired ASAP and they need NEW people...
