Wow!! I goggled Italian restaurants in Pensacola Florida and this was one that showed up. I read several reviews and they all said it was fantastic. I ate there today 18 May 2022 and I cannot properly describe how incredibly delicious the pizza was. It is definitely unique. It is a family owned restaurant and it was relatively busy on a Wednesday afternoon. That says a lot right there. I will definitely dine there again this Autumn. The people working there are exceptionally friendly, polite and courteous. I very much highly recommend this restaurant. The addition of tomato on the pizza was delicious even though very hot coming straight out of their unique oven. I very much enjoyed myself!! 06/29/2022 I was just thinking this morning. The next time I go to enjoy Pensacola I will eat again at this restaurant but I want something other than pizza. Then I thought I have to order a pizza because it is as unique as it is in a very good way. I look forward to dining there again this Autumn. 16 November 2022. I enjoyed their pizza again on November 12th. My girlfriend agreed it is fantastic pizza. She took the photos I posted. The wood fired oven and the pizza we ordered being made. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon so I am not the only one who enjoys their food!!! 15 December 2023 A long, deep sigh......... I am on a current trip to Pensacola and I enjoyed lunch here around 1:30. It was completely filled up with customers. I had a 13" Abbondanza pizza. I googled Abbondanza and it translates to: plenty, abundance. That is exactly what the pizza is, an abundance of delicious pizza. While I cut off the crust, I was pleased I ate all of the incredibly delicious pizza. The waitress was very busy, but still took the time to display her wonderful personality. Another very long, deep sigh..... People in Pensacola have told me there is better pizza in Pensacola. I refuse to believe that. This is a family owned restaurant and you can tell the difference. I visit Pensacola for The Tucson Oven, Joe Patti's Seafood and McGuire's Irish Brew Pub. I was lucky enough to find a parking spot and even though I dined outside, it was a pleasure impossible to express. Thank you owners and staff for continuing to provide exceptional pizza. 17 January 2025 I enjoyed lunch again this afternoon around 2:00 and they were busy, but not at full capacity. As always, the pizza and pasta were beyond delicious. I travel to Pensacola mainly for The Tuscan Oven Pizzeria. I am so extremely disappointed with Marco's Pizza and other pizza companies in Montgomery Alabama that I have made up my mind such that I will only eat pizza here at The Tuscan Oven. My understanding is they prepare many ingredients themselves and I very much enjoy their mild Italian sausage. Pensacola is fortunate to have a restaurant of the quality of The Tuscan Oven Pizzeria. If you are visiting Pensacola beach from elsewhere, I highly recommend that you try...
Read moreI had to have pizza!!! A high star rating restaurant with so many positive testimonials. One has to wonder how many low stars never got typed as a review. While my experience was not bad, I must concede to point a few things out. Wait time was no issue due to just being two of us. Our waitress was attentive and on point with refilling drinks and keeping us informed. The seating was too close in my opinion, as one family at the next table had a child turn around and cough in my direction. Parties of 4 or more observed waiting at least 15 minutes or more. Parking lot had a few spots open for a busy night.
If your very hungry, one could agree you could eat anything. Fair? What about starving for flavor? I ordered Porto alforno, upon presented with this dish, I thought this has got to be awesome. Of course I ate, not fulfilled with flavor that should be consistent with expected flavor of meat, cheese and noodle pasta. The tomato chunks were killing me, too much filler. The eggplant parmesan was close to the same noodles, cheese and maybe tempura coated eggplant?? The crust was very soggy, and I had to pull apart the coating to enjoy eggplant. Both dishes were bland. The way I felt after eating my dish was like how I felt when my father tried to cook a meal for me when I was a child. Not that I wasn't ungrateful in those times, lol. I want flavor and seasonings.
Pizza was very good. The crust is thick and crispy. The same cheese and sauce were applied, but the pepperoni with its traditional grease and flavor saved the pizza. The meatball appetizer is very delicious. Very good. The garden salad was fresh and crispy.
I was full at the end of this dining experience. My plates are empty when I am fulfilled. The pictures speak for itself. Nothing really hit the spot, and I walked out wondering how all that costed $60. While inside, I looked at everyone eating. I said to myself, "these people would love my dad's cooking". I left the waitress a nice tip for providing good service. Prolly not ever returning again, but...
Read moreI finally got around to trying this location out, and in my experience it has its ups and downs. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day, but it certainly wasn't the best I've had in Pensacola. I'll start with the bad and work my way to the good.
I ordered the Mozzarella en Corrozza appetizer, along with a Pietro pizza and a Bianca pizza. To start, the appetizer was pretty underwhelming for the price. Extremely oily/greasy and the marinara sauce provided with it was what I could best describe as spiced water with giant chunks of tomato in it.
Going off of the chunky tomato rant, the sauce in the Pietro pizza also consisted of giant chunky tomato pieces and barely any actual sauce coverage. What it was covered with though was pepperoni, and man were they stacked and not in a good way. When you get a pepperoni pizza, you expect evenly distributed slices over the entire pie. Instead mine had stacks of 5-7 slices on top of each other in some areas, resulting in mouthfuls of just pepperoni. Not very appetizing to say the least. I will say the few bites that had an even distribution of cheese, pepperoni, sauce, and crust were good so there's that.
Finally the Bianca pizza. Considering everything else, this one really surprised me and saved this score. A good mixture of flavors with that minor to moderate taste of garlic really put this one on the top. Very delicious and the best thing about my entire order. Unfortunately my only single gripe that also applies to the Pietro is that for being brick oven baked, the under crust wasn't really crispy and had a lot of flop. The flavor of the crust was good, but just a bit too soft/mushy.
Overall it's an ok place to eat at, but for the price I paid I'd rather go to other local pizza joints. The Bianca is the only exception here as one of the best white pizzas I've had in...
