Chang's Wok Inn — Restaurant in Peoria

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. The menu online says they serve beer and wine and they actually do not. The physical restaurant had a very odd smell. The dine in tables were pushed aside and only a handful of them looked like someone could actually eat there...overall just very unwelcoming. There's a table near the kitchen full of personal items, including Tide laundry soap...seemed kinda odd. We ended up having them pack up our food to go before it came out and just took it home mainly because the dining room was sketchy, I was looking forward to a glass of wine, and they did not offer soup with dine in service (the menu stated online that dinner meals come with soup if you dine in but our server told me "no soup"). The food just was ok. We were given white rice and not fried rice and weren't given an option (the menu says that you get an option...). Chicken in my general tso was dry and overcooked. The crab Rangoon tasted odd to me too. Will probably be trying another place next time we are in the mood for this...

The dining room was cold. We were the only family in there. Though there were about six or seven people waiting for food to go. But the dining room was open. The service was minimal, one time to take our order and somebody else delivered it. They never checked back with us. They didn't even come in the dining room at all. They also didn't bring us the check. My chicken was way over fried there was hardly any flavor to it. It was hard and crunchy. I will say that we ordered Rangoon. That was good. But it was the only thing that was good. As I was leaving, I saw the couple in the back cooking almost frantically, and I felt bad for them because I believe they own the restaurant and I think it was their son who took our order.. But if they owned the restaurant they need to hire someone to take care of their patrons and or close the dining room and just make it take out. I would not recommend...

My first and last time. I spent almost $100 on takeout from this establishment and have several complaints. The Garlic Beef is not listed as spicy on the menu, but is actually very spicy. Sweet and Sour Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork were both just meat and sauce. The menu lists peppers and pineapple as part of both, they were absent. When I contacted the restaurant to express my concerns I wasn't even offered an apology. I was told to order my garlic beef not spicy the next time. Apparently, the mistake on their menu is not their problem. I have worked in restaurants and bars for decades. Because I've been on that side of the counter I was very cordial and very polite when expressing my issues. There are a dozen places nearby where I can get better food, better service, and a better price. I will not be returning to...
