I normally don’t write reviews but thought I’d put aside some time after the incident that took place a couple days ago. My boyfriend ordered a dish containing diced potatoes. While eating he felt a sharp poke in his gums which turned out to be a piece of thick metal (I’ll insert pics). We alerted the server and she assured us she would let management know as well as remake the dish. A manager came by & told us that it has happened before & it came from the baskets that hold the potatoes in the back as they were brittle. She then said the dish would be compensated & went about her day. The rest of the time after I sat there in disbelief of how she thought a discount of about $18 would be sufficient enough, it really showed how unimportant this incident was. This piece of metal could very much have lead to an infection from a pierce in the gums. Or worse, this piece of metal could have been swallowed and pierced who knows what else and possibly ended in death. The fact that it was mentioned so nonchalantly how “it’s happened before” is very alarming. The fact that they continue to cook these potatoes in such “brittle” baskets is also very alarming. I mean look at the size of this piece of metal in comparison to the fork or even to the lime. It is not something that will pass through without doing some serious damage. I should mention after another conversation I expressed how the issue was not taken seriously, they let me know the bill would be waived. Honestly, the money is not the issue. The issue is the lack of urgency. Hash Kitchen can only give out so many free meals until their negligence ends somebodys life & changes the lives around them. That being said, please check your food, your children’s food, your grandparents food...
Read moreHash Kitchen is basically when you take a great upscale diner and it sleeps with a W hotel on a Friday night. It’s a brunch club. Live DJ. Mimosas and drinks of all sizes and flavors, new takes on classic brunch flavors, and a fun vibe.
Wife and I sat at the bar on a busy Christmas Eve for lunch. As out of town era, we were not sure what to expect, but I love love brunch and wished I would have had more space to eat more. Bartenders were super friendly and on top of their game for the whole restaurant. The DJ was pretty legit, even though he looked older than the target demographic.
The food was insane. We had donuts, which were very nicely fried and had a crisp crust. They came with a sweet cream, a riff on a cannoli. Really yummy, but the cream a bit too sweet for my taste. My wife had the breakfast cannelloni, which we had never heard of before, while I had the fried chicken hash. As you can see in the images, the portions were very very generous. My plate had at least one large fried potato as a part of the hash, a massive chicken breast, and a mountain of fried leeks, plus two fried eggs.
I really could see this chain taking off in places like Austin and would love to see one there. My only complaint is that tables were really close together during COVID and most were packed. Not sure if they had capacity limits inside, but it was too close for comfort...
Read moreOur first sit in experience at the Hash Kitchen was fantastic! The one hour wait is worth the time. We sat at the bar and the bartending staff was super friendly and quick to get your drinks. Our bartender Mary-Kate was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. My husband and I started off with the French press coffee, which was hot and delicious! Then we ordered the bloody Mary in a bag - Type A+, it was nice and cold plus savory! I ordered the breakfast potato tacos and my husband had the buscuits and gravy meal. Both meals were fresh, hot and delicious! I loved the tacos, they had a crispy corn shell and the potatoes were seasoned well. You get 4 tacos topped with 2 eggs over medium, lettuce, cotija cheese and a green chili sauce that is mild but full of flavor. You can also add a protein and I had them with the pork carnitas - juicy, tender and delish! During our meal, the manager Domenic stopped by to check in on us, he was friendly and made us feel right at home. We also enjoyed the lively atmosphere, there was a great breeze flowing through the bar and the D.J. played fun music that had everyone bopping and moving to the beats. We will certainly come back to the Hash...
