Disrespectful female manager. I am not a "hun" neither is my husband. We politely asked about our pizza, if they had changed to new provider of the ingredients or such, (pizza we usually order was BLAZINGLY Hottt) ... Manager replied all was same EXCEPT the bacon, they had run to a grocery store (yes) to get more bacon because they ran out. She rolled her eyes, sighed, and almost downright argued it that the pizza was NOT hot. We then replied with "would you like to try it and taste and see? " She then said no, and told us about her ulcers in her throat, etc.. Finally she offered make another pizza and take the pizza off the ticket. An hour later, and 2 upset stomaches later, we both agreed to go home, due to long wait for 2nd pizza and not feeling well from attempting to eat the fiery hot 1st pizza . The 2nd pizza was still not served to us at 1030 pm , we waited at the front desk for it and to be checked out. We asked for the ticket while waiting up front by the door, the pizza charge was NOT removed as told.. and the 2nd pizza we got home with is burnt. With the way the dining area looked ,(dire need of cleaning) and our stomachs from the attempt of eating that catastrophic pizza there, Id safely say DONT DON'T eat there!! And I beleive may have starts of food poisoning, hospital trip tonight apparently. And , a SPECIAL thank you to that "manager" ... she looked at the receipt and kept it when I signed for the c.c slip ..she KNEW I was irritated and kept it to prevent getting the store info and trans and survey info,, sooooo, I POLITELY asked her for that info.. AND MY RECEIPT BACK! I will be calling health Dept in am. , also, who in the NECK does their management training???!!! The young lady who waited on us was greaaaaat! She needs to replace the manager ! The gentleman who greeted us at the counter upon our exit was very polite an more professional than that manager...
Read moreWhen it comes to Monical's in Peoria, Illinois, everybody talks about the one up on top of the hill.
However, if I may, instead, let's talk about the one on the corner of Knoxville and Lake.
So you want pizza in a quiet atmosphere that's family friendly and you want awesome stuff to boot, this place has it.
You want the manager and the waiter to treat you like an actual human being, and they actually have a minute or two to talk to you about some things, whether it be your order or not? This place has it.
You got a group of 15 and you just want to take them out to a big dinner and pizza sounds like a great idea this place has room for that in fact the day that I went there was actually three groups large groups of people in there one was celebrating a birthday. This place has that.
As a matter of fact, there's only one other Monical's in Central Illinois that I would put on par with this one, and that's saying something. Everybody brags about the one out of the shops at Grand Prairie. Yeah, yeah , yeah yeah yeah yeah whatever. Yeah, they've got Flash, and they're a newer store, but what they don't have is the ability to go the extra mile and treat you like family. That's the one there on the corner of Knoxville, and Lake does.
Whether you take your 5-year-old here for their birthday or you take your girl here for that first time date or you're taking that special business meeting because you got to land that account, this place does that trust me when I say this you'll be happy you came...
Read moreI remember Monicals selling delicious quality-made pizzas... for decades. I remember polite, classy employees. In the past few years the pizzas are just no longer made correctly. A 16" 2-topping costs $30 - twice as much as any competitor. And yet they're dried out, the toppings are unbelievably skimpy (they're only spread over 2/3 of the pizza), the spices are sloppily spread in patches and are either too heavily, or to lightly applied. And last time (my final order here) there were NO spices. And they sold us pizzas that apparently were ordered by someone else. I suspect that Monicals-corporate aggressively increases prices because customers aren't happy with quality and so are rarely patronizing Monicals. So they're losing money. So they raise prices AGAIN. AND then more customers leave. Etc etc. This location is the worst. On two occasions over two years, a viciously rude employee named Jemima has attempted to bully me when I complained about my pizzas. This bullying included VERY low-class language! It won't be long until Monicals runs itself out...
