Oliver’s Pizza & Pub North 3300 W Willow Knolls Dr, Peoria IL 61614
I love when restaurants are in old houses or unconventional spaces as opposed to strip malls and stand- alone square boxes. Oliver’s (North) is just that, you feel as though you are going through someone’s front door to have dinner at a friend’s house. The furniture, the décor and the ambience are all top notch. The staff was all friendly as we were greeted by a smiling and happy young lady at the door who seated us in the dining room. Our server was equally as pleasant as was all of the staff I encountered.
They have an excellent selection of beers on tap as well as in bottles. I had the Stone Maine Dayslayer India Pale Lager that has the flavor of a mild IPA with the appearance of a traditional lager… delicious and perfect on the first really hot day of 2017!
The menu is as expected at a pizza/pub joint. We ordered Poutine as our appetizer and I was happy to see that it was the traditional version of it and it was delicious. The fries were hot and crispy, the curds were nice and melty and it had just the right amount of tasty gravy. I love poutine and theirs is excellent! Next we ordered our standard family pizza- pepperoni on the whole pizza with one half green olives (hers) on one half sausage (his). I am becoming a big fan of the very thin crackery type of crust that seems pervasive in these parts (away from Chicago). Also the sprinkled sausage has taken some time for me to get accustomed to but I’m coming along. The sauce was as I like it, not sugary. All in all I really like the pizza here…really liked it.
I must add several things that I didn’t like. Print some new menus, they’re nasty old and wrinkled and the wall next to our table was dirty.

A cold beer, in a great atmosphere with friendly people and some great food. Hell Yeah this...
Read moreIt’s a pretty good place to eat. I recommend ordering a burger or the quad pepper pizza. Show up to eat between 3:30-6 and 9-12 for the fastest service. Frank is wonderful with most all his customers at the bar. He’s always good for conversation and entertainment. The remainder of current bartenders and servers are guaranteed to provide the best service possible each night. This location is also a great place to host group events. There are two dining rooms on the 2nd floor of the house that can each be reserved at no cost to host larger parties. Handicap access desperately needs updated. Both the ramp and brick path leading to the restaurant are in poor shape. The interior of the restaurant could use some updates as well.
As for employment, Oliver’s North is decent place to work. Staff members are super goofy and easy to get along with/the work environment is pretty fun. Management outside of the restaurant tends to be a quite petty and often discriminatory BUT if you strive to be nothing more than mediocre at your job, they are sure to leave you alone. 10/10 recommend dining here 6/10 recommend working...
Read moreThis is an excellent place to get a variety of good quality food. Their appetizers, entrees, sides, shakes, and drinks are all great. If you like the super thin, almost chewy crust pizza, you'll love their pizzas(7,12 and 14 inch). There are a TON of toppings available too. They've got a lot of burger and sandwich options as well(I got a pizza, but especially the fried chicken sandwich looked incredible) Everything my table ordered looked great. I think you can please just about anyone with their menu- there is just such a good variety. I believe some of their sauces and doughs are homemade and they use good quality meat and produce, which is always awesome. They also have a great selection of bottled beers and on tap. It's a very casual atmosphere with outdoor and indoor seating. All of the staff were awesome, and the restrooms were adequate. I was blown away at the cost, you can have a fantastic meal and beer for under $20. I personally believe their food quality is also top notch. I will be returning here multiple times, and recommending it...
