Thanh Linh Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in Peoria

Our favorite restaurant in town, by a long mile. Reasonable prices for massive portions, with friendly and attentive service in a pleasant and comfortable environment located in a nicer part of town. And the food! Oh man, the food! It's so excellent. Deliriously delicious on so many levels. We've had about a dozen different dishes there, each and every one sweeping us off our feet: sweet-and-sour chicken, bell pepper stir fry, crab rangoon, beef pho, fried rice, spring rolls, lemongrass chicken, egg noodle stir fry... the list goes on. My head's spinning just thinking about it all.

But their crown jewels? The Thanh Linh Iced Tea and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. We'd stop in on a consistent basis just for those. Their iced coffee effortlessly surpasses anything else offered by the nearby Starbucks (no surprise there) and even local coffee joints like Midnight Espresso (best overall coffee in town; hit them up!) and Thirty-Thirty (close runner-up). Very sweet, very tasty, very addictive. You've been warned. It's that damn good.

All in all, Thanh Linh is, hands down, your best bet for Asian cuisine in the entire Peoria area. Hell, it's probably the best in all of central Illinois. Having recently moved out of state, we highly doubt we can find another restaurant to fill the void left by our precious Thanh Linh. Go there, take all the leftovers home (and there will be leftovers, trust me), leave a good tip (because the service is excellent and also, c'mon, don't be a jerk), and I can guarantee you, you'll be itching to return...

I’ve been coming to Thanh Linh for about 6 years now. During my time at Bradley, it was my go-to. The food was always excellent, and I had not had a problem with the service. While in town yesterday I was thrilled to come back and enjoy lunch, but my experience was such a let down. First, my food order came out incorrect. No problem, it happens. But getting the attention of the server took 25 minutes. Finally, once I got out of my seat, I was helped but the waitress was rude about it. Food was brought back, was ok but not delicious or the quality I am used to at Thanh Linh. I had ordered fried rice with chicken and veggies and I’m pretty sure they just recooked the same plate to add the chicken that was forgotten. The waitress was dismissive and when the food was brought back, nobody revisited to check on the table. Had to leave my seat again to get attention for receiving the check. We were charged an extra $1 for “extra rice” which I was told was for having my order corrected. At the time of my dining, the restaurant was mostly empty. The infuriating part of the experience and service however was the attention that the servers gave to a middle aged couple sitting across from us. They were constantly being refilled and checked on, while our eye contact and waves over were ignored. Never again will I go out of my way to eat here. Such a disappointing and...

WOW! I LOVE Vietnamese food. Every place we live I have a few priorities in terms of settling on favorite restaurants. I have to find my perfect pizza place, the best possible Mexican food, and a killer Vietnamese restaurant. Having lived in the NY metro area, the SF Bay Area, and Calgary, I have had Vietnamese food at a variety of establishments in all of these places. None of them compare with the quality AND quantity of food at Thanh Linh. A friend at work told me about it today, so we wasted no time and took our boys there tonight.

Four entrees would have been more than enough four all six of us, but we didn't know that so we went home with a goodly amount of leftovers. Everything was perfectly flavored and perfectly cooked. We had the Vietnamese Curry Chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. We had Egg Noodles with Beef, which was so full of flavor. And we had our regular stand-by dish of Vermicelli and Pork Lettuce Bowl. I'm almost getting hungry again just thinking about how yummy it all was. Everything tasted extremely fresh and came out piping hot. The mango bubble tea was also on point.

The restaurant is very clean and well-kept, and had a steady stream of guests. I highly, highly recommend Thanh Linh and am SO happy that we have so quickly found our new favorite Vietnamese...
