Update: EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTED.
After leaving my initial google review about clearly getting food poisoning from this place, the restaurant responded publicly asking me to email them to “look into this further” I did exactly that immediately —emailed them a week ago, (see attached screenshots).
I never got a reply.
It honestly feels like they only responded to my review to make it look like they care, not because they actually do. If you’re going to tell customers to reach out, the least you can do is follow through. Don’t pretend to care about people getting sick just for appearances.
And after looking through other 1-star reviews, I noticed I’m not the only one who’s gotten sick from eating here. That’s extremely concerning. I wasn’t even asking for anything—just trying to inform them so they could possibly address the issue (investigate what I ordered at the time, see what time I ordered, see who was working/cooking at the time I ordered). But apparently that’s too much to expect.
If they weren’t going to reply, I would’ve honestly preferred they just ignored my review altogether instead of pretending to care. I hope others read these reviews before risking it.
THIS WAS MY INITIAL REVIEW:
If you want to throw up uncontrollably for hours and get food poisoning after eating from here, then absolutely order from chanos. If you don’t want food poisoning,...
Read moreI normally wouldn't write a review like this but after my experience, I was curious to read the good & bad reviews. It seems like the bad ones are mainly ongoing concerns of cold, stale, dry or bland food, & even some said they got sick. I was turned off by the response of these reviews on the owners behalf. They seemed condescending, passive aggressive, & defensive rather than constructive by improving on the same complaints. So being that it seems like many of the same complaints havent been addressed, my experience was, the other night I ordered a steak taco, empanada, Yuka fries & chips. The next morning I woke up & was extremely sick for 2 full days & finally feeling 50% better today. What really threw me...I was telling a client today about my awful experience & he told me he got extremely sick last year from the same place! This is terrible...whether there's some cross contamination or food that's left around too long, please...I suggest the staff to look into the red flags that may be causing this, because a potential serious situation could be easily avoided by simple changes or solutions on your behalf with proper training on food storage, handling, &...
Read moreMy family and I been enjoying Chanos for a few years now. Chanos is consistent, clean, healthy, quality food where you can see and taste every ingredient! There is no unhealthy nonsense, butter, oil, etc. It’s also a great restaurant for those with dietary restrictions and has tons of options and variety on the menu. Everything is solid, but the tacos and surf and turf burrito are our regulars.
Let me just set the record straight on all the reviews saying there is no flavor… there are 11 signature salsa flavors, each more flavorful than the next!! The quality is there. The flavor is there. The base dishes are in fact, quite basic, but you can customize it with the $0.69 salsa. You can get a few salsas and have several distinct flavors. If you order online, you get free homemade chips which are excellent. I would also encourage you to try all 11 flavors so you can pick your favorites each time you order. It’s also refreshing to eat Mexican food that doesn’t upset your stomach.
For this consistency, variety, quality, flavor (with salsas), and value… I give it 5-stars! Try a few items and sauces until you find our favorite combo and I trust you’ll be back...
