A beautiful location, ideal for spending a summer afternoon, enjoying a barbecue, cooling off in the clear lake waters, and immersing yourself in nature and the peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately, access is restricted exclusively to Pequannock residents. As visitors from Bogota, NJ, just 15 minutes away, we were unaware of this policy. After considerable insistence, we were reluctantly allowed entry, which made for an uncomfortable and awkward experience. We later learned that only residents or their invited guests are permitted, regardless of willingness to pay the $20 entrance fee. This policy feels unnecessarily exclusionary and, frankly, discriminatory. We brought this issue to the attention of the Township via email, addressing members of the Council and Management, including John Driesse, David Kohle, Melissa Florance-Lynch, and Adam Brewer.
