China 23 — Restaurant in Pequannock Township

All I can say is Wow and Delicious. I have lived in the area for almost 20 years and tried every Chinese food restaurant in the area. I have had my favorites over the years but lately all the Chinese food places have disappointed. Until today, China 23 is what take out Chinese food should taste like. It is clean, with fresh ingredients and high quality proteins like chicken, beef, shrimp and pork. Their food is not greasy and well seasoned. They don't put to much dough and breading around items like sesame/sweat and sour chicken or General Tso's chicken. They rolls are wings are fried just right, crispy but not burnt or dry. Their prices are actually right on the spot unlike some places which have jacked their prices up while lowering their quality and quantity. Deliver time was amazing, the food was ordered online and delivered within 30 minutes and the food was still warm and tasty. Being in Wayne I'm about 10 minutes away, so it's always a risk orders out of town and getting food that is still edible. China 23 definitely delivers. , let's talk about the food! Oh boy, the menu at CHINA 23 is impressive. They have a wide selection of Chinese dishes, and it was hard to choose just one. I decided to go with their famous General Tso's Chicken, and I wasn't disappointed. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors. I also tried their Vegetable Lo Mein, which was packed with fresh veggies and had a delightful blend of seasonings. It was so delicious that I ended up ordering another serving to take home!

We ordered take out tonight and were more than pleasantly surprised. The portions were generous, everything was cooked to order, the quality of ingredients was exceptional, and the customer service and friendliness was appreciated. Our order was ready in 20 minutes (just as we were told) and was packaged nicely. All the containers were filled to the lids and not one spilled into the bag. None of the sauces were the slightest bit greasy, the vegetables cooked but still crisp and the rice fresh and fluffy. The prices are more than reasonable considering the quality.
