We waited almost 2 hours for our food and this is after our salads and appetizer took almost an hour. Not once did anyone from the restaurant management give an explanation or apologize for the inconvenience. Our waiter would literally disappear for 30 minute intervals. It's not big restaurant so we had no idea where he was. Several times we asked if another server could find him but he still didn't come back to our table. We literally had to go to kitchen door and ask the food prep people what the problem was. Finally the waiter returned and told us he can only put our order in the queue and has no control over it after that. Our food arrived and it was absolutely not worth the wait. Below average at best. I wanted to take my pasta home and they brought it out to our table in a to go bag with sauce dripping out of it like a broken water balloon which I laughed at left it there. On the way out I very politely told the woman at the desk that it was one of the worst dining experiences ever and we were regulars who would likely never return. She very smugly said "why are you yelling at me, I don't have any control over that" Again no apology or explanation. A professionally managed restaurant would have at least offered some free coffee or desert as a comp at a minimum along with an apology. On the way out we realized the party room next door was packed with an event and all the servers were doing double duty which explains why we didn't see ours for more than 5 minutes over the span of almost 3 hours. Again we were regulars who dine there at least 1-2x a month, often in large groups of 6-8 people. We will never return. They lost some good customers who used to tip the wait staff very generously. We've experienced long waits here before and thought making a 6:30 reservation was safe, but apparently not. I saw very similar reviews like this on Yelp so it doesn't appear this was an...
Read moreThis is the first time I've been to the restaurant part of Stefano's, I've been to the pizza place and that's always been good. We walked in this past Tuesday 9/19, a little after 6pm. There was a decent amount of customers in there. The waitress said give me a few minutes (she was working alone and just had help from the bus boy) I asked her if we can sit in the back, she said, oh, the table back there doesn't want anyone sitting next to them (I knew why-COVID) young woman had the mask hanging around her ear. I said to the waitress, well then she shouldn't be out to dinner then if she's compromised or paranoid. So, the waitress (older woman) said, well there's only 3 of you, that table is for four, my response was so what, really? She didn't answer me, we took a table in the back that sat 3, so right then and there, this place gave me a bad taste in my mouth the way I was treated. Not 3 minutes later, the waitress sat 4 people in the back table I wanted............Miraculously the people at the other table I guess didn't mind having those 4 people sitting next to them, and btw the young woman who's mask was hanging off her ear, not once put the mask on. The waitress wasn't very friendly (she knew from my body language I was extremely annoyed with her) service was very slow (she was the only waitress there, the other person she told me never showed up) For 3 people the bill was over $100, no dessert. Lobster ravioli special was $35, absolutely way too expensive. Although the food was good, my veal parm was tender, I would never go back here. Over priced and as new customers we were not treated well. Very disappointed. I'm hoping if someone from management sees this review, they...
Read moreHonestly, I can't understand the number of great reviews of this restaurant. First of all, the owners are extremely nasty. The father is beyond rude, the wife is beleaguered, and the son is dismissive. To say that all of them are snotty is an understatement. (Just take a close look at their faces, and that will tell you everything.) Food is just adequate. They will upcharge you for EVERYTHING. They don't care much about food, just about getting money out of your pocket and into theirs. BTW, DO NOT TIP at the front counter because it's run by this horribly rude family and the tips go straight into their pocket (as if they aren't making enough money on their overpriced meals as it is). One of the waitresses even told me that the owners are famous for keeping the waitresses' tips. They don't even like to serve you water because then you're drinking something for free! I suppose their next step is charging you $3 for a glass of water and extra for the ice cubes. I asked for a glass of soda without ice for my youngest, and the waitress said something like, "OK, I'll try to sneak that for you" because the owners want to save money by filling up your glass with mostly ice and very little soda! They won't give you a to-go container (I guess because they cost money). Overall the staff seems fairly miserable. I guess we were lucky not to get the hag who seems to be the queen of the dining room. Instead they give you a paper plate and maybe a paper bag if you ask for one. I just can't believe this place is still in business. I don't usually write reviews but this place is a ripoff, it's run by horrible people, and you can get the food on the restaurant side at a diner for half the price. Stay...
