Edit: presuming your doughs are made fresh daily, we picked up our box at 2pm closing time, which would be what was offered to someone who shopped at 1:50pm. I was lucky to get flavors I like. Pumpkin spice, key lime and matcha are all flavors I enjoy in other food options. You are correct- as I stated originally -
Well, this isn't a donut. I wouldn't get these if you think you are getting a donut or even a cake doughnut...
We got these to try, through To Good To Go and from the first bite it was an unexpected texture and flavor.
The chewy is more than chewy it is almost not done enough. They are too dense and heavy for my liking. The odd flavor is not to my liking.
The pumpkin icing was nice, the cream cheese too runny. The lime icing was flavorful- but the fauxnut not tasty.
The green donut with dark donut underneath was just horrible, taste and texture.
Everyone tried the pumpkin and it was the best of the three we tried, still the chewy texture is a miss for my house.
I'm not sure how they have the rating of all 5's.

Read moreI first tried donuts from Mochi Shop back in 2022 or 2023 when they were at a farmers market. And at the time, they were the only option in Columbus for mochi donuts.
I was super excited to support them when they opened their brick and mortar location.
These mochi donuts are not the typical mochi donuts. I’d argue they’re completely different type of donuts (like how there are the cakey vs doughy donuts). These are not deep fried and are slightly more dense than their deep fried counterpart. That still have a chewy texture. And are heavier on the mochi flavor (or mochiko flavor).
A lot of thought has also been put into their icing. This icing is not as sweet, but still flavorful. Showing how much they care about the quality of their ingredients, they only use natural food coloring.
This is located in the game place as coffee coin. Their latte was well made. Great blend of espresso and milk. The espresso was pulled wonderfully and the milk was...
Read moreMochi Shop shares a cozy shop space with Coffee Coin, and the two harmonize perfectly—delicious coffee paired with fresh, chewy mochi donuts is a match made in heaven. Located in a small plaza on the east side of the train tracks on Bethel Rd, this standing-room-only spot is a true hidden gem. We tried the chocolate and strawberry mochi donuts, and they were fresh, perfectly chewy, and full of flavor. The daifuku mochi is also a must-try for mochi lovers.
It might be a little hard to find at first, but once you do, it feels like you’ve stumbled upon something special. There’s no seating inside, though there’s a small table outside if you want to enjoy your treats right away. Plus, there’s a bathroom available next door. I’ve tried their donuts at pop-up events before, and the quality has always been top-notch. If you're craving unique, fresh mochi, this place is...
