That porkchop sandwich was amazing. Those ribs are so tender. The greens are just right. Not too fatty or salty.

I am changing my review. I wish I could do a separate review for a separate experience. Getting two plates to-go was quite satisfying. And I would go back.

However, large orders/catering I did not have the same experience and would not recommend.

To be fair, I am making this review after receiving a $100 refund of my $700 order.

The people who ate said the food tasted great. It was hot and looked delicious. It was just 1.5 hours late. I had to extend my facility rental fee so my guest who stayed could eat. So essentially, the money they gave back went to the facilty rental.

Instead of ordering from a catering menu and signing a contract, I ordered the quantity of food for 60 plates. Meat and double fries. I did receive all the meat, plus extra that I had ordered. However, I did not receive any french fries.

When placing the order, the manager gave me a 10% discount. I assumed this was because of the quantity that I was ordering. I also had requested that the food not be plated but provided in metal containers.

The meat was in metal but not the rectangle containers that fit in the wire chaffingers with burners to keep the food warm. They used a brand of lesser quality and wrapped in foil. There were no condiments, bread, or utensils provided.

It appears that the 10% discount was not because of the quantity but because they were not providing the full setup as they would if I actually was receiving 60 plated meals.

Even though they did give extra meat to accommodate me, it really didn't matter as some of my guest had left before the food could be served.

The reason for the tardiness was explained because they lost power due to a storm. I give them the benefit of the storm, being out of their control. However, the food was prepared in fryers that they had under their covered patio. If they had prepared better, they should have used the outside equipment from the beginning.

Even though the owner was there, he never acknowledged my presence. The manager and staff were friendly and eager to make a bad situation right.

I had the pleasure of ordering from Fatz Shawn’s while leading a college tour group of 30 students, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. From the moment I reached out with our group’s orders and names, the staff was incredibly responsive and professional. She even followed up the morning of our visit to confirm every detail, which gave me great peace of mind.

Although we arrived slightly later than scheduled, our meals were ready and waiting. Each order was individually labeled and perfectly organized, making distribution quick and seamless. The owners greeted us warmly upon arrival and checked in several times to ensure we had everything we needed.

Not only was the customer service outstanding, but the food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The best testament to the quality? A bus full of high school students quietly enjoying their meals, followed by a collective nap on the way to Atlanta. That level of contentment speaks volumes!

Alright so have a little good with the bad. They have a wide range of options which is good. I got the smothered pork chops, macaroni, collard greens, and a side of potato salad. The meal also comes with corn bread. The bad first is that the macaroni was dry as pictured, although it had a good flavor and the potato salad was a tad bit salty. Also, the container for additional sides was small. The pork chop came with rice, the meat was well seasoned and the greens were very good. Also, had the lemonade which was delicious. The young man who took my order was very nice so 5 points for service. The cornbread was cornbread, a little dry but he did say they were getting ready to close so that could be the reason for the macaroni as well. Will visit again just to try something different.
