I called an order in, and asked what my total was so I could go to the ATM to get cash. I have ordered here in the past and was told they only accept cash. I was told the total was $62.15 including tax. When I arrived to pick up my food I was told that my food was $73 and some change. I asked about the price change and was told it was sales tax. I didn't think it was right but I let it go. However, when I arrived home I discovered I was missing my coleslaw and one whole chicken wing. I called the restaurant. I spoke to someone on the phone who said, they were the manager. She put me on the phone with another lady named Nancy that stated that she was the owner. The owner refused to listen to me. She immediately went into defense mode and started interrupting and talking over me as if I was not talking. She argued that the price given over the phone was wrong. She said, the cashier made a mistake. I told her that I would look at her online menu to check the prices and add them up. She then stated that prices online were not the same as the prices in the store. I tried to talk about my missing items but she continued to talk over me. My wife joined the conversation and she talked over both of us. We asked her repeatedly to let us talk. My wife told her that she was not practicing good customer service by refusing to allow us to talk. She said, fine I am just going to put the phone on speaker phone and lay it down and let you talk to yourself. She also shouted that she did not owe us anything but cole slaw. We told her that since she refused to allow us to talk about our issues with her restaurant that we would do a review and tell our friends about her lack of customer service. I, also, noticed that none of the employees in the restaurant were wearing a mask or gloves while I was there. We ended up having to throw half the food out because it was disgusting, half cooked, and extremely greasy. I feel like we paid $73 to eat trash and to receive terrible customer service from the owner. We could have gotten over the mistake in our order total but we cannot get over how rude and disrespectful the owner was to us. Our purpose in making the call was to let her know that she had a few problems so that she could address them with her employees. Instead, she chose to be a part of...
Read moreI visited Skipper John's for the first time and I mention to the white lady who has been there for 10 years and the black lady who's been there for 25 years. They didn't seem happy to work at Skipper John''s but they were polite. The chicken was okay but it had A LOT of Lawy's season on it, the fish (catfish and flouder) was very thin and greasy, my shrimp was store bought (terrible), okra and fries were drench in grease and they were store bought also but the onion rings were okay (greasey to) so I made a trip back to get a remake it because I could not all that Lawy's season on it (there MASSIVE Lawy's season on everything including the okra and fries.) and it was STILL greasy. I witness the white lady with store bought Kroger potato salad being spooned out and place into little cups without any gloves and wipe and lick her finger, REALLY? She's not the cleanest person in the world, look at her teeth not mentioned the place. In conclusion, is you like greasy heavy season fried food then go to Skipper John's, but if don't do go there, It is a waste of money there for my taste. You can contact me, I am telling the truth, I have nothing to gain from...
Read moreI was in the mood for seafood and besides captain d’s I discovered this place... when I went in I was not greeted... I was so disgusted by the cook. There was only one cook for the day ..who didn’t have on gloves or a hair net and was constantly talking while making the food ..the place is just set up so unprofessionally .. on top of all that the cook was drinking a Beverage while cooking the food (unprofessional) ..some would say that’s not a big deal but when I got my cup it had teeth marks which made me believe it was the same cup she had I’m not saying it was intentional.. the food isn’t bad it’s just the paranoia of finding a piece of hair or something in my food... I just ask that the place practice sanitation and hospitality.. the cashier demeanor was as if she hated her job and was annoyed with customers ...it’s like find another occupation ..people should feel welcomed NOT RUSHED while ordering ... I don’t say any of this to shame this place cause it has potential I just hope they take my factual Criticism into...
