My wife and I went on a Wednesday late in the afternoon. She has worked in the food industry and is not only aware highly aware of food preparation but enjoys trying out fancy recipes.
We ordered 2 appetizers. An olive bowl and pickle chips. The olives were very good. We both liked them. The pickle chips were super salty. I finished them off.
It was Happy hour and between us we had 4 different drinks. 3 adventurous specials and a glass of wine. My wife really liked her wine, I drank the rest of her drink, the Rose Glass... My Dirty Pickle left a little to be desired and the Lemon Drop was good.
I'm giving the service a mixed review. We had two people wait on us. The first was inexperienced and should have been shadowing the second, learning how to give customer service. She did not know the Guest wifi password and took no initiative to get one. We had to ask for a napkin when she brought us our first drink. When the first appetizer was brought out we had to ask for plates. We didn't even try to ask for silverware.
When we asked the second server for a Guest wifi password, she gave it to us promptly and with a smile. Because our second app took a while to deliver, the second server brought us complimentary fries without us making comment or asking. That was good service. Unfortunately, they were the greasiest fries I have ever eaten. While the service of the second person impressed my wife, the fries, as food did not. I ate them.
The interior decorating was nice. It said, "We care about our venue. We want you to feel comfortable and special." There was some soft instrumental music playing hit tunes.
Brass + Bone has apparently been in operation for 2 years. So it is still new. I predict that with another year or two it will continue to grow as a popular spot to go out for a nice evening with friends. Service and food will continue to improve and the owners will do well. The next time I go I expect I will add a star.
But don't take my word for it, give it a try and decide for yourself. Photos...
Read moreWe decided to drive down from St. Louis to celebrate National Bourbon day....we LOVE bourbon...and I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. The atmosphere is par on with any bourbon bar you'd find in StL. Fabulous seperate seating areas. A nice selection of bourbon, I assume they'll expand. We tried a meat and cheese tray that offered a good selection. The cheese wrapped dates were fabulous! The signature drinks were common...mules, smashes, old fashioned. However, the bar tender created an off menu smoked drink that was ON POINT! I was delighted! There were comments of, "This is Perryville, what do you expect?" Can I tell ya the service is exactly what I expected, small town attention to detail and excellent customer service! It's worth the hour drive!
Enjoying life 1 sip, 1 bite and 1 small town at a time. Explore...
Read moreWe decided to check out Brass + Bone, after a friend recommended it. This place has such an amazing Art Deco vibe to it! The attention to detail is unbelievable. We had a few specialty cocktails and a few beers, and all were on point. We shared the House-Made Pickle Chips and they were delicious! Next time, we will be trying the chicken wings. The staff were so friendly and even made recommendations on some cocktails. We will definitely be going back in the...
