After breaking down on our way home from the Lou and shopping for a new car my family & I were starved. The husband, both sons, and myself can be hearty eaters and all of us love burgers. When my youngest son saw Mary Janes burgers he insisted we must go there as it is after my name. I had been dying to try Mary Janes burgers & brew every trip we have made to Cape Girardeau, MO but haven't had the chance. I was surprised to discover the place a chain. From the exterior alone it was obviously owned by the same owners as, though each are unique older buildings, they are both beautifully decorated. It was pleasing to find a business owned by anyone who cared enough about the local area and architecture purchasing an existing historic property. Signs of a committed, invested owner/manager where everywhere. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and crowd that won't long be found without such compassion for a place has me guessing the Cape location is another must try. Saving a preexisting structure rather than demolishing it for the lackluster designs of today's boring basic models is a sophisticated, stylish eye catching addition to the neighborhood. In my opinion I'd found another Mary Jane who this far also seemed to have great tastes. From the looks of the crowds flooding the interior & the rapidly growing line of hungry patrons patiently waiting I was perhaps more eager for this meal than my kids. I told the friendly upbeat hostess that we would gladly take an outdoor seat and this lead to our being immediately seated. Promptly following the choice of our picnic space a very nice server with plenty of great suggestions and explanations ensured we understood the choices and set us up for some of the best tasting burgers we've ate in ages. Two of my guys are the Holy Cheeses which they described as delightfully cheesed, satisfying, filling. As they analyzed, discussing their thoughts with each other, reaching my husband said the only negative he could arrive at was to state that it maybe a smidge bland. My sharp son then pointed out that it was just that with such a heavy dosing of cheeses it was difficult to detect other flavors as cheese is normally a strong taste. As it is one they love, they both gave it two thumbs up. My sometimes pickier eater enjoyed his big kahuna burger. As he claimed he was going for the full Pulp Fiction taste experience he even choose Sprite, which we all are not normally fans of and claimed his burger was so delicious it actually seemed to give the Sprite some flavor, improving it. If I am not feeling the spicer choices I will generally order a plain burger. However noticing that every plate I saw being delivered to others looked great I went with the cowboy burger and my taste buds celebrated this pick. The artichoke/spinach cheese app was very good. Fresh was it's flavor and the varies items it's served with where unique & equally delicious. When ordering we noted that the fries come bottomless and talked about loving that different offer. Honestly it had me thinking the burgers are big enough they can probably afford to offer this perk. Hot and perfect naked they where but do try the house ketchup as it's another amazing pair. Prices are moderate. One thing is certain u get the bang for your burgers bit back and Not only will we return we will...

Me and my family went into this establishment for an early dinner on 9/30/23 about 4 pm was when we left. We had a server named Lisa at what I believe was table 37. We had a great dinner and went to leave and got to the car and as we were getting in the car our waitress is outside yelling for us she then comes to the car accusing us that we left without paying. We left 3 receipts each for each meal we had. She said she didn’t have any of them but this was in fact after the transaction had went through on my bank account. Then proceed to ask me if I just didn’t tip her and I said I’m sorry me!? She said yeah! I proceeded to tell her that I did in fact tip her and she said this was the receipt and showed me the receipt I marked through because it was the receipt I didn’t want to take with me not her copy she then says oh ok then can I just write it in then and I said where is the receipt I already signed, she then said she didn’t have it. I told her we could go inside and look together. She was sure I was wrong and we tried to walk out on our checks. We went to the table where then inside the restaurant YOUR waitress began to make a scene still saying I didn’t pay, my brother then says are you sure another waitress didn’t take it and she said I assure you they didn’t! Then looked at me and said “do you want to watch the cameras to see that they didn’t”. Where I then said “would you like to watch the cameras to see where I signed my check” she then tells me I AM BEING A BIT MUCH and asked if I would like to get the GM involved and I said yes absolutely please bring them over! she then pulls her little black book out of her apron and opens it and one of the people from our table sees our tickets RIGHT ON TOP! She then try’s to SLAM the book shut as quick as possible when she realizes her mistake. She then looks at me and says ok yup I had it you can go. I said no I would still like to speak with the manager due to how poor this was handled. She says ohhhh ok! I am then taken to what I am told to be the GM of this restaurant where Lisa walked up to her first and says turns out I had them meaning OUR RECEIPTS I then explain how this was handled by this waitress to whom I am told is the GM of this restaurant and Lisa then steps in front of me and looks at me and just says ok and have a good night and pointed to the door. I then said are you kidding me that’s it? And I look to the GM who has not spoken a word to me! Lisa then says what do you want me to buy you a drink!? And I said oh wow.. To say I was absolutely appalled is a absolute understatement! Then another waitress chimes in and laughs and says have a good night! I am disgusted and beyond disappointed and frustrated with how this establishment has handled this situation. I have no choice at this point but to believe the person in whom I spoke with inside the restaurant was in fact not the GM because if they were and that’s how you handle your business. I was just made out to be a fool and harassed by your employees in the middle of town’s square in front...

This was my 3rd visit there and my besties 1st time. The waitress was a sweetie. Unfortunately we waited approx 40 minutes for our food( it was not busy at all there were 5 tables with only 2 or 3 people at each table) The food was not good. Our bread was so hard we could not eat it. It was so burnt and hard. My friends burger was charred bad and dry. My meat was not as over cooked but that's all we could eat was some of the burger. The bread i got for my burger was 1 slice of sourdough cut in half which looked like the size of a cracker and i couldnt cut it with my knife. I asked about the bacon jam and asked could I sample it to see if I wanted any for my burger. The waitress brought it out and it was horrible. The bacon was so burnt in it that's all you tasted. We got charged 2.oo for it. I did not like their house dressing and got ranch instead. Well I don't think I would be charged for that but was. We told the sweet waitress about it and she said she would tell the manager. The manager gave us 25% off our meal. Which should of been atleast 50%. I have worked in a restaurant in the past and know things ho wrong. Sorry but my sandwich was definitely not worth 15.50 and hers wasn't worth 15.00. I usually don't write reviews but this had to be said in the Hope's of future corrections in the establishment! Good luck...

4 strikes and their out.. Strange sad experience, we had a very good experience one time. Every other time we have visited, absolute poor service.. the bartender today attentive and doing her job well.. When we arrived there was no one at the hostess station for several minutes. Our waitresses completely obvious to customer service. No menus when we sat down, used the app, figured out what we wanted, to order within 2 minites took 10 minutes walking past us mutie times before we could place our order.. time table and process only theirs. Obvious bias toward older customers, (asked both younger customers either table next us how they wanted their burger cooked) did not ask us, we get what ever the waitress submitted?. Funny thing, we have disposable income, tip typically 25to 30% for good service 40% for exceptional service. We go out often, try places that have failed more that once to give them a chance to succeed. social media influencer, fries and burger were tasty, hamburger under cooked, taste was good food was hot. Fries stuck together, so not agitated when deep fried. No longer my problem, I will be ignoring your signs on the billboards now. As you have made no efforts at improving customer service.

We are on a road trip and stopped some where to eat because we are staying close by. This is where we decided to eat and to be honest we instantly regretted it. The waitress was cleaning when we walked in at 11:50 pm. We came on a Saturday, but they don’t close until 1:30 am. There was only 2 ladies in the bar area so we were hesitant about them being open. When we walked in and the waitress did not say anything to us until I asked “are you guys open?” She said “yes, sit where ever you want”. The bar bites were the only thing available but an appetizer would have been fine this late. The waitress was dry, and hardly engaged with us. We ended up ordering the pork nachos and the voodoo shrimp. The food was very good! The waitress never checked on us, never refilled our water and made us wait longer then necessary for our checks. She also spent the entire time we were there sitting and chatting with another employee. Unfortunately we will not be back because of the horrible service we encountered.
