New Diamond Restaurant — Restaurant in Perth Amboy

I normally I dont like to make bad reviews for anything, but this place was absolutely ridiculous tonight. We called tonight, 10/14/24 about 6:30pm for delivery. We specifically asked for Vegetable Dumplings. They gave us pork, which couldnt be consumed because of religion, and we had no knowledge of it until it was too late. Called the restaurant, only for them to tell us it says pork on the menu and that it was the default. They also told us that if we shouldve told them of religious reasons as if we didnt ask for vegetable in the first place, and why would i have to tell them that?? Should they not make customers aware the "default" is pork, which most people dont consume? Then worker on the phone continued to argue, even said he "listened to the playback of the recording" even though the original order call was about 10 minutes and the worker was gone for like 20 seconds but whatever. The only resolution they had was for us to bring the dumplings back to the restaurant. We ordered for delivery for a reason. A 13 minute phone call for them to finally send a driver to retrieve the pork dumplings. What...

I order delivery and asked for general tso chicken with pork fried rice the lady ask me if I wanted the diner special or the a large order I said a large order obv still speaking about the same dish with the same RICE they bring my food they don’t have the right rice they give me white rice okay no problem I call back and they place me with the manager and according to his “playback” I did not say I wanted pork fried rice but then told me the lady ask for pork fried rice with general tso chicken for the dinner combo and the large order did not bring pork fried rice that I was supposed to tell her I wanted pork fried rice when she made the order large when is pretty obv I did not even mention white rice to her just bad customer service all could’ve been prevented by sending me my rice even if it was...

Soooo I’ve been a diamond fans for YEARS!!! I don’t have a clue as to what has been up lately but this is now the second time we’ve ordered in a row where our food was disgusting. Last time the shrimp and broccoli basically had raw broccoli it was not eatable!!! Figured it was just a fluke. Well today my general chicken (supposed to extra spicy…. So not spicy) was funny tasting. And didn’t have much flavor. The veggie fried rice…. Had the strangest smell which my husband and I didn’t even feel comfortable eating. All we ate was our egg rolls. Moral of the story ima need the original cook back or a new one. Because who ever is cooking now …. Can’t.
