Love love love Los Tres Caminos! These folks do Mexican just right. The decor is perfectly colorful and interesting (not so comfortable but you don't have to wait long, so it doesn't have to be). Tables and seating are clean and neat, and you get snackable chips and red sauce (not really salsa) when you are seated and give your drink order.
After a few minutes to determine what from the huge menu selection (might want to peruse the online menu before you arrive and check the specials board when you get there), you'll receive prompt and attentive service, frequent checkbacks, and reasonably fast food. It's not a quick service restaurant, so remember you'll wait a bit for your food. Like you expect an Applebee's or any other sit-down restaurant. They aren't slow.
The food is glorious! I mean, it's seriously good. The drinks are so-so in my experience, but others with me have said theirs was good, so I can only tell you what I have found. They are not wimpy, that I can say. Their beer selection is good and it's served nicely cold. The guac is mild, but they can make it spicy if you wish - but beware if you ask! ;)
Both sites of this restaurant are great, so understand that this is the east side location, just east of downtown on Broadway. I would give pretty much the same review for the west side location, other...
Read moreI want to preface this review in saying that my wife and I are not fans of Mexican food. The last time we had Mexican was back in 2019 when we lived in Texas. Earlier this week we decided to give this place a try because we were tired of eating at all of the usual places here in Peru. I ordered the Degollado's Dinner and my wife ordered the Enchiladas Verde. The Degollado's Dinner has 4 items not including the rice and beans and is enough to feed at least 2 people. It was a mistake on my part to order all chicken, because it turned into a chicken taco, chicken tostada, chicken enchilada, and a chicken burrito. It was way too much chicken. While the chicken was very good, it would have been better with some variety. My recommendation for anyone ordering this is to do something like a cheese enchilada, beef taco and burrito and maybe a carnitas tostada. That is my plan the next time. My wife was very pleased with her enchiladas. We also ordered the queso which was the good white Mexican cheese, not some watered down Cheese-wiz that you may find at that chain restaurant down the street. If you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, take it from me, a person who lived in Texas for almost 20 years, this is the...
Read moreAfter having been at another Mexican restaurant in another city and having a horrible experience (ignored, not being seated for a long time, not even given a drink and still waiting forever after being seated so just walked out) so went to Los Tres Caminos and was greeted right away, seated, had drinks delivered quickly, our orders in quickly and food was delivered perfectly in good timing even while the restaurant was extremely busy with customers. Our waiter was excellent. I had the Fajita Jalisco, which has tender chicken, beef skirt steak, and shrimp, grilled peppers and onions, so good and a huge portion even being a half order! Food was hot and cooked great! The tortillas were nice and warm, the refined beans, rice and guacamole was good, as well as the chips, salsa and YUMMY white queso cheese dip! All of our food...
