Arby's — Restaurant in Peters Township

The Diablo Dare is back. Is it any spicier than it was before? Nope. It's still a messy sandwich and this time it was more sweet than spicy. Note below that my heat tolerance is high though!

2022 update == They are now advertising a pair of Diablo sandwiches. The claim is that they are the hottest sandwiches that fast food places offer and are so hot, in fact, that they give them to you with a Vanilla Shake so you can fight off the heat effects!

Well, I have a high heat tolerance, and enjoy hot foods, so this was a come on I could not resist!

One Chicken Diablo and one Brisket Diablo later and I can report that they are indeed the hottest sandwiches that the fast food industry offers - but that is not saying much. They are spicy, but not so intolerable that you really need the vanilla shake - at least I did not. I did find it interesting that the brisket version was spicier than the chicken version. Since they pretty much have the same ingredients except for the meat, I have to believe it had to do with who assembled them and how heavy-handed they were with the pepper sauce.

Both sandwiches are very messy to eat. Have spare napkins available. Hold them with both hands and they still spill their contents all over. A very cute touch was that the buns are colored orange. I suppose that is to warn you - yet again - of how hot these are. Cute.

My fav fast food place and location. Food is fresh, hot and can be healthy. I would give it 5 stars except for the night manager--terrible! The day manager and entire day crew are pleasant, courteous and on top of things. The food is consistently good and hot. Place is clean. Accomidating my desire for no bun snd will put any sandwich on a wrap. Day manaagers even walk around to see if all ok. Last Thurs, the night manager was actually nasty and rude...even when she took the order, acting as if she never heard of water as the drink or ham/swiss as a wrap (not what i got).She screwed up the order-gave curly fries not onion rings-tgen kept saying we didn't order rings. Three times she as much as called my cousin a liar. Between denials, she said "$2.07 for the rings and you can have them, or just eat the fries" The Reubens were not hot, nor was the beef & cheddar. OMG!! Arby's is now my favorite of all time fast food!! It started when they had their HUGE fish sandwiches, 2 for $5. I used to go get 4 at a time, one to eat, one in the fridge, and 2 in the freezer( they freeze really well). Then, they came out withe the awesome brisket sandwich. Couldn't get enough! NOW!! They have a filet mignon sandwich the likes of which I have never seen anywhere, I mean ANYWHERE, ever!!!! In any restaurant, fast food or not. Anywhere. They are so far ahead, menu wise than any other place it's ridiculous. If McDonald's is a a Pinto( remember those?). Arby's is a Lamborghini, without the high price. The filet is the most tender steak I've ever had. In my life!!! And I'm 68, been all over the world, BEST. Do not drive past this place. Pull in, get 4 filets and go home Lock the doors.
