Calacas is undeniably my go-to restaurant for mouthwatering tacos and refreshing limonadas. The experience here is truly exceptional, thanks to the outstanding service provided by David Pardos and Jessica. David, in particular, goes above and beyond to cater to his customers, always wearing a friendly smile and offering a polite and accommodating service. As a mostly vegetarian with a preference for seafood, my options at a taqueria can be limited, but David’s efforts to customize menu items make each visit enjoyable and fulfilling.

Jessica also stands out with her unwavering politeness and customer-oriented approach, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. These two individuals are the reason I keep coming back to Calacas.

Beyond the remarkable service, the food at Calacas is outstanding. It transcends the typical taqueria experience with its delicious and reasonably priced menu items. As a non-meat eater, I particularly adore the ceviche bandera, an absolute delight, and the Baja tacos, a scrumptious choice for seafood enthusiasts.

To complement these delectable dishes, Calacas offers an array of lemonades in various flavors, such as watermelon and cucumber. These refreshing concoctions are so delightful that they make you forget about the need for alcohol – they are that good!

In a nutshell, Calacas is more than just a taco place; it’s an oasis of great food and exceptional service. It’s the dedication of staff like David and Jessica that truly sets this restaurant apart. Whether you’re a vegetarian, seafood lover, or just someone seeking a relaxed and sumptuous dining experience, Calacas is the place to be. You won’t be...

This place is a hidden gem. Went here fur my dad’s birthday dinner. Made a reservation by calling ahead because we were a party of 9. I brought a cake and upon arriving our server asked if we wanted them to keep it cold in their fridge until we finished eating which was such a nice gesture. The service here was excellent! We were well taken care of by the entire staff. The aguas frescas we ordered were huge and you can add as many flavors to them as you like. The tacos we ordered were all delicious and a great portion for the price and the quesadillas my niece had was enormous. We ordered a couple of guacamole’s and they did not disappoint. After the meal when I went to ask for the cake, our server gave me a firework candle and and Mexican hat and told me that they would play ā€œSigo siendo el reyā€ and then sing las maƱanitas to my dad. It was a hit and we all took turns wearing the hat and taking pictures. All in all, I highly recommend this place for the food and the great service. We will definitely return and this time I’ll make sure to take some pictures...

This place offers quality made tacos with a ton of flavor. Don’t sleep on their tripa tacos the standard is a crunch-like-chicharrón texture. My favorite - their manager Adolfo advised us they can make them however the customers want us to. The Al Pastor tacos were amazing with some piƱa and the Cochinita Pibil tacos are filled with a ton of great flavor. Our choriqueso could’ve used more chorizo but the cheese was of great quality and it was tasteful with hand made tortillas that are hard to beat or find anywhere else. I’m a big guy that hates ā€œordenesā€ when it comes to ordering tacos and this place sells most of their tacos priced individually at a fair price so for sure we are coming back. I also want to point out the welcoming environment by their staff and management with constant check ups on us, not to even mention the way the place was designed and amazing artwork along the entirety of the establishment. I’d recommend this place to anyone and especially if you are in the mood for some tacos and some beers. (I enjoyed it too much I forgot to...

Wow!!! Awesome place for tacos!! Great variety to choose from. I love mollejas so was curious about theirs. Very good but a bit different from others I’ve tried. Theirs are fried so I believe gives it a bit of a chewy kinda stick to your teeth type texture but I did enjoy it nonetheless. Good size chunks too vs chopped up style. Also orders the Baja fish tacos…great..Ribeye chicharron tacos…very tender meat and great presentation. The pork tostada…very good and fresh…and birria quesadillas…which I think were ok not very wow from others I’ve tried birria. The tamarindo drink was good too!!! Only thing I’m disappointed was all taco places I’ve been too serve complimentary charro beans…here they don’t. Overall definitely coming back

This restaurant is a little difficult to get to from Ferguson Ave however it is worth the zigzagging. We went on a Tuesday so the special was 2 tacos for the price of one; only bistec or pastor. The corn ribs were a delicious appetizer. The tacos were just as delicious. The beans had pieces of beef fajitas, veggies and not spicy but full of flavor. My husband said the stuff potato was really good tasting, so big he was only able to eat half. The service was good; however there were only 3 staff waiting on the incoming customers. They were spread a little thin. The walls were well decorated with sayings or beautiful murals.
