Customer service is terrible, prices are high!

We were really excited to try this place, the food certainly did not disappoint! Food was hot and delicious, portions are huge, prices are reasonable! We had meatloaf, fried chicken, squash, potatoes, macaroni and corn. Tables and items on tables were clean.

This was our first visit so we were unsure how you order, etc. It is cafeteria style and I am assuming the typical plate is a meat and two sides. We asked, however the lady serving was more concerned with being extremely rude to my fiance after I asked him to go first while I decided what I wanted, there were many options and I was a little overwhelmed. She told him to get back behind me and for me to go first, so from that moment on the entire visit was awkward and uncomfortable 😣, and I felt rushed to choose something. Then she acted less than happy when we requested an extra side of corn not knowing you only get two sides. She also seemed off put when asking for a very small amount of macaroni as the portions were huge, she proceeded to give me a huge amount, I hate wasting food and we don't have any way of storing it. No one was behind us, so there was no reason to rush. As we sat and ate many other couples came through and none else was treated in such a way when the gentlemen went first.

We won't be back because there is no reason to ever treat a person or couple in the way we were treated, traveling 365 days a year, we have never felt so uncomfortable ordering food. We frequent the area and rarely get to eat home cooked so it was a great find, just disappointed with the experience. The one star is strictly because of the treatment we received, I would not recommend visiting unless...

I could not even finish my food before leaving a review due to such high disappointment. I’ve eaten there before and the service is usually pretty bad, you kinda feel unwanted or like you bothering them. They act like it’s their house not like they are here for the customer, no real professionalism or grace. But I can say a few years ago, the food made up for it now it is bland, dry, The meat is tougher than stale bubblegum. Plates made small portions and sloppy. No gravy or real sauce on the roast and rice. Macaroni cheese, watery, and greasy at the same time, yams taste like they were straight out of the can. No sugar added not even cooked long enough, was still chunky and had a weird imitation, vanilla extract taste.( I had too smush it around because it was just too big chunks) The greens were not terrible but not good either, The ribs were tough and basic. Their sauce is clearly store-bought with no special touch added except water maybe. The only thing that I can say nice was that the dressing was good, still very dry but somewhat enjoyable. Everything else was honestly beyond disappointing, and with a total coming up to $34 for 2 small plates with no drink I do at least expect to enjoy my food especially from a home, cooked mom and pop type of restaurant. I have recommended so many people to them over the years and ate there so many times before and I haven’t had it for over a year since my last experience was quite the same. However, today took the cake. They don’t know how to smile, like NEVER. You can tell the food isn’t made with love, care or intention, nor are you being served that way, just here to...

I'm sad to have to leave this review. My son and I have becoming here since he was about 5yrs old. He is now 22. I moved away but Iake it my business to stop by everytime*m in town. Now my husband is battling stage 3 lung cancer and we stopped by on Sunday before we left. First off the females that's their now are horrible. I'm an area manager in Nashville. I have 8 stores under my built. Neither one of them could work for me. The rudeness is unacceptable!! He needs to make up with his son and bring him back in the fold. As we was leaving. I kept smelling something that smelled sour. The rice smelled funny and the Mac and cheese. The restaurant is filthy. So we want be returning. The kitchen door swung open and a course I took a peek. You haveexicand cooking in the back. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned in yrs. My husband got turkey wings not sure if it was the gravy or the wings but something made him sick. I will be contacting the health department! My husband has an compromised immune system. He has been in bed and throwing up since Sunday. Diarrhea and all. This is sickening. Over the years you have accused everyone that works for you of stealing from you know your scrapping the bottom of the barrel. You need to make it right with your son! You will loose this business. The line use to be out...

This is my favorite location to go too! I love the food. However the customer service is horrible! If you’re going to raise your prices, please let the quality reflect through your prices also! I do not want my plate threw together or threw around. Update: If you show up near closing, expect horrible customer service. I went yesterday during lunch and my plate was loaded plus the customer service was amazing! However today, whew….. If I’m spending $17 on a plate, I expect my sides to be completely full. This is a disgrace because it clearly isn’t $17 worth of food. Is it good? Yes! Is it worth $17? Nope! Photos attached to show that I’m not playing.

I know I haven't been to Ed's Barbecue and a little while I usually only get the veggie plate and a veggie plate cost a little more than $6 today I opted out for the oxtails and the oxtails were almost $30 a plate $27.28 you may as well say 30 dollars I'll start coming back to Ed's but I will continue to get just the veggie plate from here on out the price has went up on the veggie plate but if it's anywhere near the price of the oxtail plate I'll continue to eat at home I love their food great a bunch of people it's just a big price for one meal
