Would absolutely recommend this restaurant, we had a wonderful experience. My parents and I flew in from LA and arrive at Angelina's late but they warmly welcomed us. An Italian couple owns the restaurant, Angela makes delicious food and we enjoyed chatting with Franco. The gnocchi were like perfect pillows and the red sauce was simple and delicious. We had ricotta cake and chocolate mouse for dessert and they were amazing, we ate every bite! BYOB with a wine shop a few blocks away. This spot is a must try for authentic Italian food and great service in a quaint spot. Buon appetito!

The place is a delightful time warp. Billy Joel and The Godfather soundtrack played through our dinner. Reservations can only be made via telephone; unfortunately google does not list correct number (it can be found on facebook). The centerpiece is the food. The recipes have been passed down from Angelina to her daughter to share for future generations. I had the carbonara, which had just the right amount of cream. Desert featured a homemade ricotta cheese cakes. Left feeling happy and satiated without being overstuffed.

Happened upon this restaurant while visiting Philadelphia, and had the best Italian food in my life. Lisa, Rich, and Michele were warm, inviting and prepared the food to perfection. You can’t go wrong with the dessert options either. When in Philly again, this will be a must have meal. Note: It’s BYOB, and payments via cash/Venmo. Please click “helpful” below

Not sure how anyone rated this place more than a one star. Staff is friendly, that's about the only good thing. Clearly they were drunk. The vealchop was just breaded and fried with a handful of arugula plopped on top. Awful. Tuna Carpaccio was way overpriced for the amount you get, salmon was below average. Oh, and the desserts are frozen not homemade. Also they charge 10 bucks for a sliver of cake and don't tell you the price or give you a dessert menu. Also they don't tell you it's cash only until you get the check. Over 150 dollars for awful food. Plenty of much better restaurants in the area, trust me don't waste your money here. I really don't like to give reviews like this but I'm a very honest person and this place is absolute garbage. In response to the owner: I give PLENTY of 5 star reviews. All of my reviews are truthful and accurate. No one is trying to sabotage anyone. I removed the delicious restaurant i mentioned to show you that it has nothing to do with this review. The fact that you clearly can't handle an honest review from a customer and have to try to defend your garbage food is sad. There was also a long black hair in our food that I didn't mention. So maybe your wife or whoever the lady with the long black hair is should wear a hair net. Do not respond to my review in a way to make it sound like it's irrelevant. Your food is garbage, it's terrible, overpriced and you lie about fresh homemade desserts when they're boxed and frozen. As well as not telling anyone it's cash only. Which i heard others complain when they heard me speak up as well. Pay taxes like everyone else instead of trying to rip people off. Your food sucks. Deal with honesty. I left this review so long ago and yet you are replying now as if I won't see and defend my honesty. I'm helping others by letting them know to not waste their money. I walk by the restaurant all the time and even on the weekends it's empty. So clearly my reviews are on point. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Won't be long before this restaurant closes down. Also what do you mean by not cutting anyone any "slack?" It's a review for a reason. I think even by saying the staff were nice was more than your restaurant deserved. Um in response AGAIN, I have ONE account. It's really pathetic how you can't handle an honest review. Get a life and learn how to cook. I don't find it funny that you are arguing through a post with a customers that had to deal with you're awful food and service. There is no more back and forth. I should be rewarded for my honest reviews, not as you say, "banned." You should be closed down and investigated. You're a fraud your food sucks, and your desserts are not homemade, they're from Jetros cash n carry. My family owns plenty of restaurants that are incredible, stop harassing me because I'm honest and you're a liar. Again,...

I don't usually write reviews, but I had to share about our wonderful experience with Angelina's. We booked the restaurant out for our rehearsal dinner this fall, and it was absolutely magnificent. Our guests are still raving about it. Family members who were visiting from out of town have informed us that whenever they come back to Philly, they want dinner at Angelina's. Truly a fabulous meal across all four courses.

Michelle was so helpful with all the planning. She knew how stressed we were with a wedding to plan and made sure that everything about the rehearsal dinner planning was easy. She took care of all the details we didn't have the time or energy to focus on, and made sure they were perfect. We had a number of people with dietary restrictions in our party, and she ensured that they had a great meal, too. The service day of was warm and friendly and attentive but, at the same time, totally unobtrusive. The pacing of the courses was perfect, giving people lots of time to drink and to chat without ever having an empty plate in front of them. Having the restaurant to ourselves (and being able to bring the drinks and wine of our choice!) was ideal for a family event.

Truly a five-star experience. I know we'll be back in for dinner soon, and in the meantime I cannot recommend Angelina's enough for anyone trying to plan a fun, delicious, low-key...

We had a party of almost 20 and for such a small space, the staff was SO accommodating. They moved tables and chairs for us and took the chaos like absolute champs. It was my older sisters birthday, and I am one of thirteen siblings with most of my siblings coming out to celebrate this, along with their significant others. The staff was glorious and didn’t get angry with us (outwardly) even once. You have no idea how much we appreciated their patience with such a large group. Additionally, the food was made swiftly and it was all DELICIOUS. We got the veal, the gnocchi, the carpaccio Angelina, the salad, and much more and everyone raves about their meals. We loved it here and I hope to come back in a more relaxed setting on my own...
