Baketastic By Suhey - Dominican Cakes — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I stumbled with this company on google while searching for dominican cakes, I saw it had 5 star reviews and saw cakes she made on social media and thought “wow! nice” I’m going to give it a try for my son’s first birthday. The cake with the pink was my inspirational picture that I sent. I wanted the cake naked like the picture but I told her with a PASTEL BABY BLUE drip and the wild one topper. The other picture is what I got. Not a pastel baby blue and the cake was not a naked cake. Before I even sent the deposit I asked her at what time I could pick up the cake since I do not live in Philly and the party starts at 2pm and I live about 30-45 mins away and she said I could pick up as early as 10 Am. Well the day for the party came and my husband went to get the cake for me and when I texted her that he was like 10 mins away at 11:45 AM she replies that sorry she’s running a little behind to give her about 45 mins. What bothers me the most is why she couldn’t text me or call me before the pickup time if she was running late. I know things happen, that’s life but as a business it is your responsibility to let your clients know that you’re running late and not wait until they’re there. Also she calls me and tells me to give her whatever and just take the cake out because I told her I was not paying full price. Now the cake itself unfortunately you can tell it was rushed because it was Dry and literally crumbled while cutting it mind you dominican cakes are supposed to be spongy and moist. Super...

Mission Not Impossible...I was shopping for a birthday cake for my sister who lives a few states away in Philadelphia, PA. My sister has had a rough year fighting cancer, so I took this responsibility to find the most beautiful cake to represent beauty and strength (just like our sister). With the timeline I was working with I wasn't sure it could be done. Nonetheless I continued to shop online and found multiple locations in her area with good reviews. I reached out to each bakery that met my criteria, and the first to reply was Baketastic. Instantly Suhey worked with me to ensure I got exactly what I was envisioning; a beautiful, great tasting cake at a reasonable price, and secure transaction. I am usually skeptical about ordering certain products online, but her professional service was excellent and I felt at ease. On the day of the event, the cake was ready on time, as expected. My sister (the birthday girl) loved it and everyone raved about how beautiful and DELICIOUS the cake was. Terrible to work with. From the lack of communication to last minute cancelation. To begin with, it was always hard to get in touch with her. You mostly get her voice-mail. I saw a review on google of her making a plain cake for someone's birthday that looked nothing like the inspo pics. I wanted to make sure my daughters cake did not come out the same so I asked if it would still look like the pictures I sent or at least similar. I guess we had a misunderstanding and she basically wanted to just grab a cake topper and edible lollipop images and put it on top of a plain cake for $225. I could just do that at home if that was the case. I tried to work with her even after the miscommunication we had and she just cancelled. Don't bother with this lady.
