Benny The Bum's — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Food is always good. Drinks are always good. Was one of my favorite places to go and get something to eat. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star because I had the number one thing you just dont do as a server happen to me. My check tip was edited ( an extra10$ ) honestly it doesn't matter how much it was edited by is the fact that it happened. As a current mananger of a restuarant and prior server, it disgust me that servers have the audacity to do that. I completely understand the nature of the job and tips is how they get paid but editing tip changes is foul. I literally dont understand why the server decided to do that cause it was only me and another person I was with. We order food and a couple drinks. I never was rude , I used my manners and said thankyou everytime. Bar bill came to 20 and some change. I tipped 20% and that's 6$. Unfortunately I called to try and get a copy of receipt to make sure I was not mistaken but it was a hassle to get a receipt..then I had to explain why I needed a receipt and the person whoever answer the phone automatically knew it was for a incorrect possible tip adjustment. Ask for manager and emailed asking for receipt. Nobody got back to me. So I had to take situations into my own hands with my bank and dispute the edited tip they put on. (Not the whole charge, just the fraud tip. So benny bums still recieved my payment/business from me). Unfortunately this server thought she could get over by me..dont know why.. idk if she thought I dont check my bank statements/transactions because of how I look but I was not the one for that. Wow! What a experience!! "Consistentsy " is the word! The space was well done .clean .inviting ..very cool...hostess on point...I sat at bar to wait for table which was ok..place was happily packed..table became available sooner than later ..service on both ends was good...the table was set..clean ..ready for me to get my grub on..Brianna ..on point great personality ..after a few suggestions we decided grey goose Cosmo and crab bisque ..the drink was smooth and the bisque was smoother . Wasn't heavy ..plenty of crab...got us started ..main course on order ...steamed crab pot...and Alaskan crab legs ...now..the new girl Alyssa ..on point kept the table clear ..wasn't over bearing ..we noticed the staff as we waited ..smiling ..moving ...you could tell they were a well prepared....birthday day celebration in the Background .at least two of them ..the restaurant was jumping ..here comes the food ..my man Mario ..he bought out the crabs along with the Cajun butter ..regular butter no more!...the seafood on both ends was fresh ...corn ..potatoes..soaked in garlic butter ..was perfect ....Mario and Alyssa kept the table clear ..Brianna kept the glasses full....she handled us perfectly ...after dissecting the crabs ..belly full ...I look up and see a very cool painting of vodka bottles ..that was so cool....sooooooo....Benny the bums ..you did da damn thing ..customer service and quailty product is a lost art ...but tonight ..you were the artist ....keep up the good work !!! Total reccomend !...

I was craving seafood this past Sunday, I wanted to find a place that my friend and I could go to with a laid-back atmosphere and good food. We do have a seafood place in our neighborhood however, I wanted something different, so I started googling. I came upon Benny The Bums, and noticed my sister had visited 6 years ago and left a good review. ( She is very particular about her seafood she loves seafood) I was willing to give it a try based off her review, it was about a 35-minute drive from us, we walked in we were greedy immediately with a smile, and escorted to our table. Will be given two cups of water, our drink order and appetizers were taken. (It was so difficult for us to choose our appetizer because they had so many yummy options 😀 we wanted everything. However he got the calamari, the spicy wings and I got the Crab Balls. For our entry we both got the snow crab leg pot. We looked so greedy but the food was so good. The crabs were not overcooked or undercooked they were flavored to perfection. They offer sweet potato fries with caramel on the side. (Never had them that way loved it I am a sweet potato eating individual. The price you pay is definitely worth it considering how food prices have been up. We can't wait to...
