Berks Street Crabs — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I've been a customer since they were cooking in the house & they were always one of my favorite spots for crabs. Yesterday I had Shad's Choice platter (fried shrimp, fries, and seafood salad). Unfortunately, it was not as good as it was when I tried it in the past. The shrimp were way overcooked & rubbery to chew & the seafood salad was not as good as usual. The food is usually good but they are inconsistent with the recipes & seasoning. I paid $20 for the platter, which comes with 6 shrimp & $10.50 for 6 extra shrimp, that were overcooked. I feel like it was a waste of $30.50. The fries were good though. The customer service was bad, as usual. They have 2 different price boards in there & the lady taking orders just assumes that customers will look at the b one they have sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall opposed to the one up on the wall, like normal restaurants, which has the wrong prices. She got indignant with a new customer who didn't know the board with the correct prices is the one on the floor where NO ONE looks. I will stick to only eating sautéed...

This was my first time ordering and when I say this food was amazing omg this food was delicious. I love the sauce, down to the juicy crabs and also usually I don't eat all of my vegetables like the broccoli and potatoes but babbbbbyyyy everything was seasoned perfect. And the corn delicious. Also I love the fact that it was an easy clean up because the seafood comes in plastic containers and it's not all over the place I like them over the bag . And you can tell they clean their crabs and just overall make sure everything is good I didn't even washy hands with soap and my fingers barely smell like seafood. And I ate everything with my hands. I love this place if I could give this place 20 stars I would. And for the price it's worth it it should be more in my eyes because I have been to places that charge more and didn't taste good like this it was ok but not like berks st Crab. Let me start off by saying the crabs were good. Some were on the light side. None were heavy or that nice meaty feeling.

The Shrimps and Mussels were so Hard & DRY. It had a drizzle of "butter" at the bottom of my sautéed shrimps and sautéed Mussels. The seafood salad was on the watery side.

Over the phone, the customer service is rough. In person, the customer service was better than over the phone.

I patronized this restaurant years ago and never went back until now. I now remember why I didn't go back.

If you want crabs only, I would go because the crabs were good. If you're looking for a small seafood smorgasbord, it's a no for me. I love seafood. I like good food. I'm going to tell you when it's good and when it's not.
