Some bars pour drinks. Big Charlie’s pours heart. From the moment we walked in, Laura set the tone—working harder and faster than anyone I’ve ever seen, yet never without a smile. She’s amazing. Mickey, Paul, and the rest of the crew made us feel right at home, like family we’d known for years. This was more than just a stop on a trip. My son-in-law Sam and I were on a bucket-list journey from Lubbock, Texas, and Big Charlie’s turned out to be one of the highlights. As the home of Patrick Mahomes and Texas Tech pride, the bar radiates energy and love for the game. But beyond that, it’s the warmth of the people that makes it unforgettable. My name is Charlie, and they treated me like a good brother 😉.

It really doesn't seem to be so much a restaurant, as Google wants to describe it. It's more like a neighborhood place where people come together and play games and talk about sports and are huge huge Chiefs fans right there in Philadelphia. AKA Arrowhead East. Every time I come here I feel like I'm family. I live in Kansas City so I only show up once every 6 to 3 months, but everybody remembers me. If you are a Kansas City Chiefs fan and happened to be in Philadelphia, you MUST visit here. Spags has been here multiple times. We were looking forward to meeting some friends here who are KC fans. When we walked into the bar, it looked very dark and dirty. They denied us entry after noticing we were fans of the opposing team. Literally, they kicked us out and locked the door behind us. They also denied entry to some Eagles fans behind us as well. Regardless, our friend said the food was sub par. Not a way to run a business... We ended up at Smith's where everyone was welcome and both teams displayed friendly sportsmanship. Charley's should take some lessons on how to run a business. Oh, and by the way the Patriots won...
