I've had too many bad experiences here at this branch for it to go on without me saying something. I had to go there several times since I homeschool my daughter who lives in Florida so you see the reason I've had to use it and how important a resource a library is for me especially but after today I will absolutely avoid this place like the plague. The first thing is the bag attitude some of these people have. There are a very small amount of people who are there that are normal and treat people with respect but they ruin it for everyone else. Now this is the only library that limits their use of their computers to one half hour. They will even lie and say the system won't allow them to extend it but I've been to other libraries and used the computers all day with no hassle. Just pleasant people who are happy to help you with things library related. Not this place. They pick and choose who they help and it's no surprise but they aren't choosing people that don't have the same skin color. Don't go here unless you want to be condesended to and endure resistance in your journey to educate yourself by closet racists. This doesn't include a guy named Tyler he's the one person in 6 months of my going there sporadically who sticks out as someone for whom this doesn't pertain to. Tyler should be the main librarian of the branch because he has class, respect, and zeal for the job or at least whatever he is doing at that moment. He should be in charge of training. Be like Tyler. I really am sorry to whomever feelings might get hurt or whatever but it's obvious these folks don't want...
Read moreIf you're looking for a library that has allot to offer in physical book, this may not bff the library for you. But what this library lacks in physical literature, it MORE THAN makes up for in atmosphere and service. The actuality library itself is located right inside the new Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on Broad St. It's modern architecture can not only been seen on the exterior of the building, but can actually beer EXPERIENCED inside as well. With EVERY available, up to date technology that a library can have, the South Philadelphia Library has it. Each and every book is individually encoded with a specific and individually unique magnetic reading chip which, When simply placed within a stack of other bonds you may beer checking out at the convenient self check out, can be instantly read and added to your book sign out without having to scan each book individually. A heavy stack of books need only be placed on the book reader and each book is instantly recognized by the machine and displayed on the big screen to validate accuracy. My only reasons for not giving this library 5 stars is due to the fact there's no book drop off and also the fact that the library lacks physical literature on hand but are willing to order the book for you from one of there more extensive branch's. In my personal experience the South Philadelphia Library has PLENTY to offer and what it may lack in physical literature, it MORE than makes up for in cleanliness customer service and...

This branch just reopened after being closed for two years. We live two blocks from it and absolutely love it. At this point everything is brand-new, including the amazing self checkout where you can check out books by the stack just by placing them on a RFID reader. Mind blown. Had most of the new popular books I wanted to catch up reading, and some of scare ones from my childhood I wanted to share with my kids.
They also have a really rare Sendak mural on the wall. Sendak was the guy who did the Midnight Bakers book.
Had my library card replaced in moments. Really great start to the rebuilt branch. We've...
